I could kill right now.
Yesterday on the way to band practice I stopped for a quick bite at the local family mexican restaurant. We had played a show on Tuesday night and was taking ALL of our guitars back to the practice space.
Parking in front of the restaurant, in broad daylight, making sure the car was properly secured, and being in Cobb County (one of the most staunchly conservative, whitebread, boring ass counties in the state). I had no reservations about leaving it for 20-25 minutes to scarf down a couple tacos.
When I returned to the car it was just how I left it (locked, all windows intact). In fact I was halfway to practice when I looked in the rearview and screamed.
Of the 5 guitars that were in the back only 2 were left. the case containing our 2 light racks GONE!. 2 duffel bags with cords, and mics VANISHED.
I could vomit!

MY Fender P-Bass
GUITAR PLAYER'S Gibson Explorer
SAME GUITAR PLAYER'S Ibanez Pro-Deluxe

I'm SO FUCKING ANGRY. I wish I was Bruce Banner and could just black out, turn into a giant green hulk, tear shit up, wake up in a random field or alley with my clothes ripped to shreds. What a release that would be. Instead, since not having the privilege of being zapped with gamma radiation I'm forced to sit here and deal with it naturally.

Don't cross me today! Stupidity WILL NOT be tolerated.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Any clues as to who did this?

You call the cops? You call pawn shops in the area? Your shit may show up, if you stay diligent. The punk-police should have a listing of shady pawn shops, the ones that let folks fence shit w/o ID, etc... Start there.

If need be I can call in Scotty D or some other hitters and get your shee back.

Are you in Columbine tonite? If not Busty will be in town, as will I, I'll buy you a Jaeger Bomb at least to make you feel a little better.

Christ dude!! I'm sorry.

I've always maintained that just after Murderers, Rapists, and Child Molestors, fucking thieves are the scum of the earth.

<------had his house jacked the last year of college.

Had a less than 2 year old Fender Twin Reverb amp stolen.

Luckily I had insurance but the cops weren't much help. I should have stayed on the detectives harder though.

I think we're failing to consider the side of the thieves. They probably needed to sell the stuff for food money, since no one can get jobs under the Bush administration. The lack of viable social programs and public assistance has forced them to this act. Is it really fair that you had nice equipment and they were forced to steal to survive? They're as much a victim as you are.

There you go Borg and Scotty, I saved you the trouble of having to post.

Seriously, you're gonna have to do some leg work. Get all of the closest pawn shop #s and start calling them.

Better yet, call the DA's office, cos they probably have a listing of the main offenders as far as pawn shops go. Criminals are lazy and stupid, (I SHOULD KNOW) they probably won't have gone far. If you are lucky, the DA may have a program or person asigned to this shit. Stay on them, and since its Cobb, you may get some miles out of saying that you didn't think this type of stuff could happen there, etc...

Or, have Uncle Brian call them and put some massive pressure on 'em. Protect and serve my ass

In all seriousness, if I still lived there I'd give you access to the Collection for a while. A stingray for you, a paul for the explorer guy, and maybe a nice telecaster for the misguided Ibanez user... (though they did make some good sleeper guitars).

Thanks for trying to help.

You know what hoodlums do with guitar amps? They chop the 12's out and try to put them in car subs. Seriosuly. This happened to a guy in Athens, only instead of a 2 year old Twin it was a 25 yr-old. They left the amp, with the grill cloth ripped open and chop marks around the speaker holes.

That completely sucks.
When I got home from college, after graduation, I realized that somebody (one of my roommates) had lifted my Alesis Quadraverb AND my Tascam Porta-Four 4-track.

I still miss that damn multieffects unit!

Mmmmm, quadraverb. So good, but unfortunately so portable too.

I had one of my basses shanked out of my trunk in Athens; of course we also had a bunch of gear stolen from our practice space as well.

The feelings of rage and helplessness are completely fucking undescribable.

That being said, I guess i'll see you at the bar tonight. I'm rising up out of the 'burbs for the evening.
