And if you like that whole chanted/singalong type vocals. Sorta Talking Heads/Remain In Light thing going on, vocal-wise.

I have seen considerably more movies this year than I have bought new releases - or releases, of any vintage - from the music racks. Thus the absence of a music-related list.

That said, The Woods is probably my album of the year.

But I do want to hear that Kano record. It leaves me intrigued, since I have taken such a shine to other UK rap/hip-hop/etc. artists.

that Kano is good, quite stylistically diverse. The most grimey tracks are the older ones that have been floating around a while.

Of those I've heard enough of:

1. Malkmus
2. Low
3. Spoon
4. Love As Laughter
5. Stars

I've got at least 10 albums that could replace these, but I haven't heard them enough yet. Nothing really great yet this year.

I can't even remember what I've been to see this year. Not a good sign.

From what little I do remember:

1. Kung Fu Hustle
2. Batman Begins
3. Howl's Moving Castle
4. The Fearless Freaks (technically a 2005 release so I guess it counts)

5. War of the Worlds
6. Star Wars III
7. Hitchhiker's Guide
8. Sin City
9. Robots

and a very, very distant
10. Madagascar

I think that's every 2005 movie I've seen.

Best '05 films I've seen(no order):

Head-On
Hustle and Flow
Kung Fu Hustle
Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Not a real impressive list yet. I guess I've only seen about 15 new movies this year, though.
