I must admit, I love them all, but Misery Is A Butterfly will always have a special place in my heart. In my eyes, they can do no wrong.

Glad to hear it. I can't even describe what this album has done to me emotionally, and sometimes even physically...;)

'Fake Can Be Just as Good' was my first experience with Blonde Redhead, so it remains my favorite one.

butterfly was huge. i really don't get how it wasn't more popular in places like this and with people like us. so damn good, so damn deep.

"I know the ghost can walk through the walls
But I am just a man still learning how to fall"

Brilliant. I'm going to listen to this right now as a matter of fact.

Great times. This album starts off so perfectly and just doesn't let up for a long time. That's the mark of a great album for me...one that starts well, continues strongly, and finishes leaving you wanting more and altogether stunned.

That stunned feeling comes early from Misery and isn't quick to leave.

I totally agree. The first 5 songs I believe are as strong as any album, in my opinion. Not to say that the second half of the album isn't any good but the first half just blows you away.

another reason why i love misery so much is due to the story of kazu & her horseback riding accident... it truly gives the songs so much more meaning. especially "magic mtn"

p.s. opa did you ever obtain that kcrw recording of blonde redhead?

they usually keep all their sets in their archive, but it's in real audio format or some other format and i don't know how to convert these files to a mp3 set.

Melody by a fucking mile. La Mia Vita Violenta is second after that. I find the adoration of the new one curious, but it's good that the band is getting more attention.

I have their last three and Misery is a Butterfly is my least favorite of those (but it's still good).

misery was my first blonde redhead album i heard...late last year. since then i've heard the previous 4, and i like misery just barely over melody. would have been in my top 10 for last year if i'd heard it earlier.
