Seriously what's a soy latte? I've never had one.

I think it is okay to say that someone who is Mexican and who spoke Spanish to me is Mexican. Yes, I do think that's okay. Did I call him a wetback? Did I call him Paco? Are there any other derogatory (sp) terms you know of for Mexican people so that I can form another example?

He was Mexican. I called him Mexican. You can call a spade a spade. It's okay.

And when I said "bait" I meant "get people in here to read my funny story" not "let's argue about who's more right."

And I really think the thought that people captive to the far left are more misguided than those captive to the far right. Maybe I'm being shortsighted, but I think there's a reason why there's a "Christian Right" that we hear a lot about in this country and not so much a "Christian Left." I think people on the right are probably more likely to be involved with religion on some level. And here's the Frenchy commie business coming out of my mouth, but anyone that is more closely allied with God than reality is usually not very correct about anything.

I think they would get more pissed if you went straight to calling them "Mojados," but the only time I've had a knife pulled on me is when I told a Mex I was calling La Migra on him...man was that Taco burner pissed.

Where the hell do you guys live? I've lived in NY for 30 years and have yet to be a victim of any sort of violent crime. Jesus, I thought people in the south slept with their doors unlocked and windows open.

I worked in a kitchen at some damn dirty wop restaurant, and the mex was a dishwasher...I was 16...so I have always been this big of a-hole.

His friend calmed him down, and after that we were pretty good friends. He would buy me beer, etc..

I'm not comparing any person to a spade. All I'm saying that if somebody wanted to call me "American" or "white" I wouldn't accuse them of anything near racism.

You know what's fun? Reading this thread real fast from beginning to end... awesome. Oh, and Chase, you're spelling derogatory correctly. Have some confidence.

Same thing happened to me in germany. I look american, and at a train station in Rottweil, some little punkass fat kids tried to hastle me, but I told them to kiss my ass in perfecto local slang, and surprised the fight right out of them.

That's exactly like cmanhattan's first post in this thread - except that cmanhattan is the punkass fat kid.

Don't go confusing me. I was a hero. And god, and the bible.

Well, I think it was pretty well established that the citizen involved was decidedly not a "gentleman," so he'd have had to go with "Spanish speaker" to not offend. Pretty weak, really.

And, cmanhatton4, I would highly suggest not eating at this fine dining establishment again. I can guarantee you the next time you won't be getting just pizza sauce on that crust.
