Max, I have the new Esmerine, though you should buy it because the packaging is gorgeous. Sketch set me up with "Arc", so not to worry. Thanks Colin.

I'm now looking for that Primal Scream "Screamadelica", and any A Hawk and A Hacksaw. PM me if you can help!

I'm a prisoner!!! Waaaaaaah!

So, what's your setup like? Do you have a router/firewall/etc? I may (or may not) be able to help you get rid of it.

I have a router (Westell 327W) and am set up via Verizon DSL. Does that info help?

Okay, what you need to do is setup "port forwarding" to your computer. For this to work, you need to make sure your computer has a static IP address (i.e. the Westell thing isn't giving your computer a new IP everytime you turn it on). If you can setup a static IP address by following the instructions on this page. Just click on the link that matches your version of windows.

Next, you will actually need to setup port forwarding. There is a nice set of instructions for the Westell327W located here. Note that after you do this, you will probably need to turn off and then turn back on your router for everything to work correctly.

The final step is to configure ACTIVE mode in DC++. The IP address that you should enter is the static IP you setup for your computer (most likely something like 192.168.1.2).

With any luck, that should get rid of your brick wall. Good Luck!

OK, I just ordered it from madrona records for 13 bucks. Cheaper than Amazon, people!

This was helpful information until I reached the Control Panel / Network Connections part. I don't see this window:

or this one:

Click on :
Start ->
Settings ->
Network Connections ->
Local Area Connection (may have a number)

This will bring up a dialog. It may be the first one you show (in the case that you have WinXP Home edition). If so, click on properties, and you should see another dialog box appear (this will be the first one you see if you have WinXP Pro). It should have something like, Client for Microsoft Windows, File and Printer Sharing, and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) listed in a box. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties. This will bring up the second box box you show in your post.

Hmmm... I hope that wasn't too confusing. Good luck.

Yup, got to that point. Under NETWORK CONNECTIONS, it has two options: Local Area Connection and 1394 Connection. Under the properties for each, I've highlighted INTERNET PROTOCOL (TCP/IP) and clicked on PROPERTIES. In each, the fields are empty. That's where I got stumped. Is something supposed to turned on for that info to appear?

Is the "Obtain IP address automatically" selected? If so, select the "Use the following IP address" button and you should be able to enter info in those boxes.
