sadly, haq, that's pretty much on. form a chain of people by forming a chain (various strategies can be used here, but the most efficient seems to be to grab the guy in front of you around the waist with your head to the side of his ass -insert 1,463rd gay joke here- though i've seen several others) and stand strong while the other team of 4 runs and jumps from a designated point to land on your chain.
mainly, they want to cling on to the chain so when the next guy does the same thing they'll land on the previous runner who is still clinging to the top of the chain (i.e. some dude's back). the more weight on the chain, the harder it is to keep intact. it's kinda harder to describe than i thought.

the person in the front of the chain needs something extremely sturdy to brace to weight of up to 8 people, hence the pole/pool table.
