I thought there already was one that pops up on Comedy Central or HBO from time to time.

is it a documentary or a biopic?

i mean, not that we've run out of shit to remake and Ray won an oscar we're gonna have to be putting up with shit for at least 3-4 years so why not do it right? Also, a fucking Yul Brynner one would kick ass well. hmm just starting to think about pottential subjects and this is just convincing me to start writing some angry letters to studios.

I was reading MAGNET over the weekend and there was an article about a movie coming out this summer called "We Jam Econo: The story of the Minutemen." That should be pretty cool. It said the DVD release is planned for fall.

Word.

There's been a couple docs done on Hicks - a UK one called "It's Just A Ride" that's part of the DVD set that was released in the US last year ( it also contains a couple full Bill shows ) , & one in the US for the Trio channel called "Outlaw Comic". They're both pretty well done.

There's been rumblings & rumors about a Hicks biopic for several years ( I remember one rumor had John Cusack playing him ) but nothing ever materializes.

You should start writing screenplays instead...

Most of the world isn't ready for Bill Hicks.

Fortunately, boner.org is!

I wish they had gone with the I, Robot screenplay Harlan Ellison wrote in the 70's.

Movies based on books never live up to my expectations, anyway.

one of my favorite lines from bill hicks is something like: "If you don't think drugs and alcohol have done any good for our society, I want you to take all of your records, cassettes, and cd's and burn em..cause the artists who made that wonderful music that you've enjoyed all these years...were reeaal fucking high.

Yeah, I listen to A LOT of comedy on XM all the time. I had no idea who Bill Hicks was until I heard him there.

Now I know where David Cross got his act from. I'm not trying to throw him under the bus or anything, it's just good to know who people's influences are.
