Anyone here golf? I try, but have only been playing for a couple years, and hardly get out more than twice a month. Its adictive, though... something I never thought I'd like, until I'd tried it.

same here, although i golf rarely(once a year), i used to make fun of people who golfed. I guess it was all that Carlin i grew up on. He consantly made fun of the game and made it really uncool to golf. but i tried a few years back and had a blast, hope to get out there this year.

Does miniature golf count?

Speaking of golf, a friend recently informed me that she and a couple of members of Kasabian are going golfing next month. I dunno why but that whole image struck me as funny.

Nice! My goal for the summer was to break 50, but so far my best is 53.

I play from time to time. I go through spurts, but I haven't played in a while. My roomates in college played on the LSU team, which was quite embarrassing for myself.. My best was probably 44 a couple of years ago. Now I would be happy to break 60.

as sloan once sang, i dont hate the band, i hate their fans. i dont dislike the game, but i dislike with a passion the fans godlike worship of people like tiger woods, and who will watch any golf on tv, no matter if its the british open or the buttfuck invitational.

We are going up nort' this coming saturday for a vacation, where the wife will stroll and I will golf. Playing these two courses at least.

I play just 6-7times a summer, and try to break 100 for 18.

If I could 2 putt or less, I probably could shoot in the low 90's.

I used to play once or twice a week in the summer with my dad, but not living near him anymore, I can no longer afford to go. I got him back into tennis, though, so when he and I do play, we choose tennis.

I shot a legit round of 84 once, but normally hit somewhere in the mid to upper 90s. Though I've given it up, golf is great. Golf is zen.

I've been playing for several years and still am not that good. I usually shoot in the upper 80's/low 90s for 18. It's the most frustrating game out there, but a hell of a lot of fun a lot of the time.

I can't swing a golf club, because I grew up swinging a baseball bat.

That's like saying I never played hockey because I was always skiing. An excuse that doesn't really fly in Canada.

No, it's a comment on the swing mechanics and muscle memory.

I stand by my comment.

I guess our muscles remember differently.

Actually, I've been told by many a golfer that because I played softball for so many years, I'd probably have an excellent swing. Of course, I always asked the question, "So, who's gonna pitch that little ball to me?"

We were banned from playing golf as baseball players because more than a few guys fucked up their swings real nice when we started up practice in March each year.

I joined the golf team in high school to get free lessons. I still play a few times a year and shoot in the 90's. It's fun but I'd rather play 9 holes. I get slack on the back 9 and tire out.

Shooting in the 50's is pretty good for starting out.

To take the stress out of parring every hole, our coach use to say to the lesser talented ones(me), " Play every hole like a par 5, you'll end up with a 45." That's a decent score for 9.

Obviously golf is big in Scotland. But since I was a (boo hoo) poor little street urchin on a housing estate we had to play...well in the street.

It was great fun. You should see how far a Titleist bounces and runs on concrete when hit by a rusty 9 iron 'borrowed' from Mr Caldwell's allotment shed.

Envitably a car windscreen would get hit and we'd all run away laughing and slapping each other and hide out for the day in a tennement close ricocheting the golf balls off the narrow closed in walls or if we could get hold of a hacksaw doing the 'what's inside a golf ball' experiment.
