I thought about making a "10 favorite bands of all time" thread but I figured it's been done...so what ten groups can you not stop listening to right now?

What do you think of Making Orange Things? By the way, good list of your 10 bands, with a couple of exceptions.

I like it. It's very different from his more recent stuff. I don't think I like it as much as Winter In The Belly Of The Snake or Rossz Czillag dfhdhfad but it's still pretty cool.

Also, what exceptions?

I'm not familiar with Bill Withers, and I've read a lot about Ladytron but haven't actually heard anything, but as far as the others go...

I'm a big fan of Wu-Tang, Slowdive, Spiritualized, and Venetian Snares.

I didn't like the single album I've heard by Comsat Angels, but that was ages ago. I didn't like the two songs I've heard by Goldfrapp, but I think a full album may have potential. I never got into Depeche Mode, either.

Slowdive's Souvlaki has been the album I go to sleep to most often for the last year or so.

I don't see how anyone couldn't like Depeche Mode's Violator. It's one of the albums (like 36 chambers) where virtually every song could have been a single.

And Goldfrapp's two albums have completely different sounds. The first, Felt Mountain is like a better Portishead, and half the songs sound like they belong in a James Bond opening scene. The second, Black Cherry is more electro-pop, and probably works better as singles then as an album. The M83 remix of the title track is just about the best thing ever though.

After seeing the cover, I recall that I do have Making Orange Things -- it's kind of noisy, innit?

Mine:

Pete Namlook
Rachel's
Jeff Wayne & co.
Tear Garden
Talk Talk
Shape of Despair

...uh...that's it, for now

That's really all I can think of right now. These are the one's I've been listening to A LOT lately, so I guess I'm obsessed.

and mostly just a lot of shuffle. I don't have speakers hooked up, just an uncomfortable pair of headphones, so listening time isn't what it could be.
