I think he's referring to "Stuck In A Rut" by The Darkness.

Bill Withers

Bill Withers is one of my all time favorites, especially his voice. In addition to Squirrgle's list, "Grandma's Hands" and "The Same Love That Made Me Laugh" are good shit.

My hastily tossed together list, which is mostly the result of my recent vinyl spree and acquisition of turntable:
  • South San Gabriel
  • Rolling Stones
  • Bruce Springsteen
  • Neil Young
  • Ry Cooder
  • Neil Young
  • Frank Black

And not so much obsessed, but looking into and enjoying some Al Kooper, Love as Laughter and Gram Parsons.

Maybe now that my computer has arrived I can get back to using soulseek and downloading some new stuff. I've been listening to Mysterious Production of Eggs nonstop.

i think i speak for all of us when i say: errr...whathefuck?

i don't hold them in the same regard as say radiohead, sam cooke or jeff buckley but i think their songs are pretty catchy. i don't understand all the hate for this band, yet people will still stand by total shit like the new weezer album.

I WILL admit that I'd listen to My Chemical Romance before I'd ever listen to a Weezer album. But that voice...something about that general pop-punk/emo voice just drives me insane. I can see why you would like them though, because I've even downloaded a couple of their songs in the past to see what they were like.

And the shocked sign really was because I was shocked, not because I was saying anything about your taste like some people are quick to accuse..

I downloaded their first album and thought it pretty much sucked. I guess I don't mind his voice.

10 is a big number to use the word "obsessed", but I've been playing these pretty often lately:

Racebannon
The Who
Talk Talk
Magazine
Smog
Orthrelm

Pavement (been revisiting them lately)

and pretty much as always:
Can
Neil Young
The Kinks

I think you are probably the poster who I like the most whose music tastes just run to the opposite side of the street to mine.

I don't know if I'm obsessed with ten bands, but I have been listening to a lot:
Ryan Adams
The Stones
New Pornographers
The Sleepy Jackson
Lucinda Williams
Rodney Crowell
Ice Cube

ditto.

I really want to hear 'Twin Cinemas'. I caught a track on NPR and was digging it quite a bit. I've never really been a huge NP fan, but I haven't really given them a chance either.
