Yeah, was a slightly acquired taste for me (really sunk in on the second listen), but I think his voice is great and really essential to the album's sound.

He played "Candy Says" to close out his performance at the Music Gallery in Toronto when I saw it in June. It was fantastic, his whole set was, and I anticipate seeing him again with a full band this fall. In that particular performance, it was really captivating the way he would segue without a break from song to song, sewing together fluid clusters of 3 songs usually. A simple but welcome touch.

he's gonna be in chicago soon...i'll be there....

he sounds like eddie vedder? what did i miss?

his voice annoyed the sh*t out of me when i first heard 'em. left it alone for a couple months & tried again & found i liked it. before it was warbly, now it's emotive (as someone else noted).

Nothing. He sounds like Brian Ferry. The Vedder comparison is way off.

Oddly enough, the vocals on most Roxy Music albums still bother me more than Antony's.

Has anyone else heard the D. Banhart cover of "Fistful of Love" from that recent McSweeney's comp? It sucks.

Oh God, I wasn't suggesting that he sounds like Eddie Vedder. He tone and...pronounciations....are NOTHING alike at all. But all I meant was is that they both use that same "shaking vocal" sound...it's very similar if you apply it to their respective vocals.

the spoken word intro to free at last ruins the whole album for me.
