There's also links to rapidshares of the new My Morning Jacket, Super Furry Animals and Constantines albums.

I got the Sigur Ros album last night from another source, but fuck its good. Granted, I'm only on the 3rd song so far. But this shit is, and always has been, for me.

go for Takk paladisiac.

i like how most people grabbing this can't even take the time to comment on it. this'll be the last time i post a link to an advance. the people that i normally send adv. albums too will get PMs. screw everyone else.

this message board is such a joke sometimes.

I was trying to decide whether to talk about the album here (i actually got it from a link aimar sent me) or to make an official discussion thread. Here's as good as any... I love this album already. It's way more varied than () (which i liked a lot, but had a hard time going back to very often... i didn't get much out of it unless i could sit down for the whole hour or however long), and while it doesn't have the same high points as AB (like the silence that crackles into the second part of Staralfur, which may be my favorite song moment), it's more consistent and very listenable.

Oh, and Dalen, screw you in your ear for posting free music for everybody ;)

i guess just some comments on the album. maybe some discussion. but you're right, i shouldn't be getting annoyed...this is obner after all.

Yail, i def think you should check the album out. if you can't get it, i'll get it to you.

i feel the same way about (). while i love listening to it, i find that i need to sit through the entire album to really enjoy it.

Takk as a whole is their finest album IMO, from start to finish. Agætis Byrjun is spotty for me, and () is too dramatic to listen to at times. Von...meh.

anyone who gets tix to their shows on tour is LUCKY. i'm seriously thinking about going to the Atlanta show on 09/06/05.

after a few listens to this album i think i prefer it to the previous two. not album of the year material for me but there is certainly more variety on this one, and i'm glad to hear them get loud, even if they do sort of just sound like mogwai (with a better singer) when they finally get there.

i'll have to really sit down with when i'm not doing anything and pick the keyboard stuff apart, but from a cursory listen there's a lot of cool stuff happening.

and i'm pretty sure he only says "you sai lo" in one track, so definite bonus there.

gave this a first spin last night, and so far i'm very pleased. i think that they needed a different direction after (), and my friends and I always hoped that this direction would be rocking. from what i remember last night (being that i was slightly fucking wasted) it seems they're going that way. i'll give it a sober spin sometime today or tomorrow and hopefully have more to say about it then

A while back I posted asking people where they listened to music most, and almost everyone said work and car. An album like this would make it hard to concentrate on driving, and would definitely make me drift off into oblivious non-productive headphone man if I had an office. I agree that to fully get inside this one I will wait til tonight when I am freed of other commitments.
There, see, now I have commented, and I am not one of the other 120+ people who have DL'ed in silence.
[aahhh, no longer stressed about Dalen getting mad at us]

i got into an argument last nigth about Agaetis Byrjun... my friend (who was spinning the new record for me) claims that AB is inconsistent, with higher highs and shittier lows. i don't attribute this to a decline in quality, but rather to the exploration of darker moods, which are what the oft criticized middle explores. and even though they are not my favorite moments on the record, i think it's better for it as a whole. we decided to resolve the argument by drinking more, which is why i've woken up at 3pm.....

I think my basically pro-Takk points from yesterday's Takk thread were summed up by Aaron in this one. The consistency of this record is pretty remarkable.

Word is bond and all that.

I'm having this great back-and-forth today btwn this and Big Bear. EMOTIONAL EXTREMES!

Dalen, thanks a lot for posting this. I'm sitting here in awe listening to it. I've never heard anything like this before.

Once again, Dalen delivering the goods.

I can't figure out how to get it to work. But no worries, I've already got four of the tracks, that's good enough for me. I'll get the album when it comes out.

I have a feeling after all is said and done, I'll still like () the most, but this will be second.

I've reserved giving my opinion on this until I've had time to digest it. Like what I've heard so far. Thanks again to Dalen.

On a somewhat related note... I've tried to figure out YSI a million times so that I could reciprocate some of the good stuff you have given me access to. I cannot figure out how to work it. It only gives me the option of sending via email. WTF?

1. put in fake email addy

2. upload track

3. name track

4. hit send

5. don't close window, and wait for the link to process [usually 5 mins]

6. after it finishes, it'll bring up a new window with the link to the tune

7. copy that link into a thread here so we can all enjoy!

Yeah, D, I haven't even grabbed the whole thing yet. Way too much to digest in the back queue (including your last PM, thanks for that). Track #2 of Takk knocked me on my ass in the first listen. Really excited about this one.

Thanks Dalen. I'm going to post a Brazillian DJ mix to your guttamix thread.
