and, I'm no expert but I've always enjoyed Romeo y Julietta's and Macanudo's.

My co-worker tells me The Graycliff Espresso . Apparently, some American dude created the blend with a Cuban who used to create cigars for Castro.

cotton rolls his own? jesus. what, Bugler? Drum?

Yo, Crack I enjoy the occasional cigar but I think they are oftentimes a better idea than execution. Though I did have about half a one last wknd that my gf's stepdad gave me and it was nice with a beer and some sittin-by-the-pool time

that's where i am with it. i smoked one last night in full-on celebration mode and it seemed like the best melancholy way to consider and evaluate the situation. i don't think that i'm looking for an everyday thing.

and i believe that cotton is an American Spirit man.

I enjoy the occasional ceeegar also.

2nd the Macanudo.

I smoked a Cohiba a couple of weeks ago that was really good.

I like to drink bourbon on ice with them.

I liked the Cohiba because it was kinda small and short. I'm not really into the gigantic ones. They just seem pretentious to me and not to mention harder to smoke.

This is God's truth. Cigars are terrible, but if you're going to smoke one it might as well have a flavored wrapper.

Depends how much you want to spend.

Anything by Arturo Fuente is top notch and relatively affordable (go for the black label). The Opus X line is the best of the best, albeit very expensive. I'm a fan of the Partagus #10, any Diamond Crown and the Crystal Line Greycliff's. Can't go wrong with the Anniversario Davidoff #1 either.

Now I need to hit the smoke shop.

I'd like to hear some more chatter on this.

Hey Optical, what would you recommend for around $5-$6 each range that's good. I'm going to a bachelor party next week and I'd like to buy everyone cigars.

What kind of price break do you get for buying a box? How many come in a box usually?

Those Fuente's run $4-$7 and would be perfect (churchills). Another inexpensive, yet fine smoke is anything in the Punch family. Nice options from $4 - $9 usually. If you want to raise the stakes and go for $10-$14/ea. the Padron 1964 Anniversaries are stellar. Had one a few weeks ago and it was impressive.

Boxes usually run about $10/stick... again, all depending on the brand. Check out www.cigar.com, they have great prices and good deals on boxes and samplers. The store I love in Chicago is also on-line: www.iwanries.com.

Black & Milds.

Actually, I need a good bad habit. I've usually liked Macanudos, too. I may need to stank up my clothes this weekend.

Opus X is the shit but it's way too expensive. In my opinion you just can't beat the classic Monte Cristo #2 or the torpedo. Fuente offers a huge line with varying price ranges, but they're all pretty solid. CAO and Bauza makes some cheaper ones I really like. Also the Gloria Cubana Maduro's special edition (or something like that) is a good line.

Best advice is to find a good cigar shop, and tell them what you like and see what they recommend you to try. I had a friend when I lived in BR that ran a little ad paper. A cigar shop advertised with him, and they gave him $200 a month worth of cigars. So we got to try alot of the stuff. Usually everybody starts with Macanudo, but moves on to something stronger.

The Padron Anniversary could be the best thing out there, but they ain't cheap either. But well worth the money if you feel like spending it on cigars.

Punch always makes me physically sick.

Hah! I'm assuming you've tried the Punch Champion then? That thing will floor you in 3 puffs!

I'm a big Bauza fan as well, especially the $6 Pyramid... but they are becoming harder to find 'round here. Also a fan of Gurkha... if you're going the sweet route.

I don't even remember what specific cigar it was anymore. Tried Punch twice and both times I had to lay down because I felt so bad. So I think I'll stay away from the Champion.
