i've concluded that the dude from Mercury Rev's voice is just a shade too high for my liking.

Deathcab 4 cutie - Plans

This is really getting good for only the 3rd listen, and the first listen including the second half. I wish half 2 were at 160 like the first, because the sound really does drop off, but still, this is pretty good, if perhaps missing a good rocker. Maybe you have to be in the mood. Proppas to Detritus for saving the day on half 2.

34 GREAT minutes, however! I'm glad to hand over money for something that'll keep me entertained for years. I even paid a couple bucks extra for this because I'm a big fan and wanted to hear it right then! right then!! Once I heard it, I was glad I'd done so. Much more happy to spend the $17.99 for this than the $9.99 I paid for Weezer's Make Believe.

Edited to add:

While I'm here . . . disc 2 of this is currently spinning in my computer:

Paid a little more than I thought I would ($18.99) and it's worth every freakin' penny. But hey, two discs = $9.495 each.

Talk Talk, the "great three": Colour of Spring, Spirit of Eden, and Laughing Stock
Halou, Wiser -- jawdroppingly good album
Vangelis, Alexander soundtrack -- hella lot better than the movie, but that's not saying much.
