So I'm heading down to the Big Easy tomorrow for a friends bachelor party for some king hell whooping. There will be about 13 of us, all heavies. This will be my 4th trip down there, 2nd non-football related.

oldbulee has suggested a couple of place to eat down there but I wanted to see if anyone else had some thoughts on eateries, bars, clubs, etc. to hit up.

I've done Bourbon St. pretty hard every time (Pat Obriens, etc) and I'm looking for more off beat joints.

As far as nice bars I've heard the Polo Lounge and the Napoleon House are pretty good. I don't know of any good dive bars with good music. Basically, where can I go for cheap drugs and loose women?

Actually, just a place with good tunes will suffice.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Oh and if I don't come back from this trip......I love you all. This one could get ugly.

*ahem*

See if you can't eat some e-ball and end up in a place with carpet on the windows. I knew my whole year was downhill from there.[/url]

I'll be there with the wife in a couple of weeks. Should be a good time, but there's nothing like doing New Orleans with your buddies. Was there for Mardi Gras about 10 years ago.

I know some of you fuckers have been there. saved(Stop Breathin)? Charli?

Who am I kidding anyway? We'll probably walk in the first place we see, proceed to get tanked and then go where the night leads us.

You should document it pictorially. I recommend a disposable, waterproof camera though.

Oooh, and you should have a t-shirt made that says

I'M WITH GAR------>

I already have one that just says: "SO QUAL"

Seriously. Hammer made it for my birthday.

Moxie: Thanks for the suggestions. I've heard of the Commander's Palace. It's pretty old school NOLA I think.

Well, next year she's got a new one to make. Because I'd lose my shit every 5 minutes hanging around someone with that shirt on.

I've been, but can't help you as it was probably the most mundane New Orleans trip anyone has ever had.

The Red Eye used to be a great bar to go to. It still could be but I haven't been there in a couple of years. It's next to the Howlin Wolf.

But for the mongerest time ever go to Grits and F & M's. Especially later in the night or early in the morning.
