So when I clicked on Firefox to open it the other day, it asked me to choose a name for my profile. "default" was already on the list so I clicked it; it told me I couldnt use that one, so I named a new one "Chris".....Now my skin, hot buttons, extensions, etc. are GONE and I dont know how to get back to that "default" or whatever.

Fuck. I'm crippled here. Any ideas?

This happened to me a couple weeks ago. Hang on a minute and let me see what I did.

This happens when Firefox doesn't close properly. It remains in memory allthough the window disappears. If you're using Windows XP hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE and choose "processes" in the task manager. End any instances of Firefox that are in the list. The next time you start Firefox it should use your original profile normally.

There are a couple of other possible fixes here too:

Yeah, the fix didnt work for me either; Whatever, I used it as an opportunity to get a new skin, reorganize my hot buttons, etc.

Though I do need to bump that thread from several months ago about your favorite websites b/c I got a lot of really good links from it.

Or maybe its time for a new thread. We do have some new blood.

I've been having problems with Firefox lately where I click on it to open it and it comes up but doesn't load the page and just freezes, so I have to click it again to get it to work. It's weird.
