Three years ago while I was at a record store in San Diego a news reporter interviewed me about George Harrison's death. I was only vaguely accqauinted with the Beatles and I said I loved his stuff in Wings. it ended up on national news. Now everyone knows I'm an idiot.

I've had 30 times more girlfriends before I was eighteen than I've had since turning eighteen. (I'm twenty and as of August I had been with the same girl for the past two years)

I've been in a car wreck with a cop.

I've been interrogated by cops in two murder investigations.

I've smoked out with Pantera.

I threw Gobstoppers at the kid from Shake Rattle and Roll at a mall appearance.

There are several cops who live around me and when I was twelve me and some friends snuck out during a sleep over and spraypainted one of their squadcars.

Two years ago me and some friends got trashed at a cop's house. We knew one of his sons and we brought two boxes of beer and he stayed in his room and pretended nothing happened. Everyone was underage. It was wild.

I've reformed though...

One random piece of trivia about me is that I saved the previous list of trivia about me from when we first did this thread over two years ago. And here it is:

I had a hernia operation at the age of 10, and over the course of the next two months, eight of the nine stitches inside my body were rejected and popped out of a little hole in my scar. Five years later, the ninth stitch popped out.

The most I've spent on CDs at one time was almost $450.00 at Amoeba Records in L.A. I spent so much money there at various times that they gave me a total of three free tote bags and a t-shirt.

Grade school nickname: Reno.

I'm nearly a direct descendent of Aaron Burr. Direct descendent of Burr's sister, I think.

I was born missing 6 adult teeth. My nephew has 4 extra teeth.

In my mid-20s, I got fired from Blockbuster Video after 2 weeks, but only because they beat me to quitting. I hated the job instantly, and must have been pretty obvious about it. Worst job ever.

I have had gay porn stories published. And I didn't use a fake name.

When I was 12, I remember sitting in Sunday School saying to myself "You know, I don't believe any of this."

I have gout. (Thanks Dad.)

My father was one of the pioneers of "razor blade" videotape editing at CBS in the 1950s. He also directed a season of "Candid Camera" in the '70s.

My father and I had the same 10th Grade history teacher, 32 years apart.

In my teens, I was addicted to Vicks Sinex nasal spray.

I occasionally design fonts for fun.

I've been to 5 different therapists over the years, and it didn't help. I've been on anti-depressants for the past 14 years--that helps.

I have almost 300 '60s Girl Group albums and CDs.

I have a letter from Ray Bradbury commending me on a short story I wrote in 8th grade.

The only time I was ever drunk was on creme de menthe when I was 7. Other than that, I never developed a taste for alcohol.

I am deathly afraid of big bugs.

I am the spitting image of Bun E. Carlos.

While sleepwalking once, I sat on my Dad's lap. He was on the toilet at the time.

Other than this stuff, I am spectacularly boring.

One random thing not about me: The other day, my sister had her 18-year-old cat put to sleep. When she explained this to her 5-year-old son, he asked "Where is his skin?" With a bit of questioning, she found out that he asked this because whenever he sees pictures of dead dinosaurs, there are only bones left.

oh , just thought of another one.... my dad missed Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's home run record in 1974 because he was taking me to the bathroom (I was only 4). Luckily my dad is good-natured and he hasn't held it against me.

edit: just to clarify, we were at the game (we weren't just watching it randomly at home on tv)

he might not, but i do :D

actually i blame your pops; everybody knows the batting order in a game; he should have just told you to hold it for a half inning; today that would be considered child abuse but in '74 it would have been considered "strong parenting" especially if accompanied by a spanking

Now, the next question is: Was it one of your published gay porn novels? ;)

In fall of 2000 I read one of my columns on NPR's "All Things Considered". I finally bought the CD of it this summer but am hesitant to put myself on my iPod, even if it's merely as a curio.

I have a White House staff photographer pic of me interviewing Al Gore while flying on Air Force Two, also in fall 2000.

I share a name with an impoverished African nation.

I celebrated New Years Day 2000 by flipping my car three times, hitting a tree and winding up in ICU for three days. I wasn't drunk, either, but instead was going into work early after pulling a late shift the night before.

I use a wheelchair due to a neuro-muscular condition, not at all because of the above incident.

I wrote for 2.5 years for the host publication of our former board, but have curtailed my rock hackery to pursue other interests. Plus, I just feel like a wannabe imposter compared to FnB and some others around here.

True, but there ain't no hatin' when it comes to my dad, who, in my opinion, is the best dad ever! He loves me, what can I say? And I'm not sure if at 3 I could've understood "Hold it for another inning, hon."

-When I was 14, I won tickets from a crappy pop station (KIIS FM) to see Boyz II Men & TLC in concert. I was on the radio, and of course, sounded like your average 14-yr. old teenybopper.

-I tend to have good luck winning stuff on the radio. I won tickets to Inland Invasion a few months ago. Not to mention other various tickets from Indie 103 as well.

-But what is known for sure: I have bad birthday luck. On my 22nd birthday, my car got towed. On my 23rd birthday, my car got stolen. On my 24th birthday, I sprained my ankle and spent the day of my b-day in the ER.

-I also have EXTREMELY bad luck with cars. Refer to above. Not to mention that after the 1st time my car got stolen, it was stolen from WORK 1 1/2 months later. Got the car back in one piece both times. Car broken too a couple of times as well. I noticed the pattern that I have bad luck with white cars. When I was 16, I totalled a white Accord that was my mom's, and no, it wasn't my fault. All the other incidents are with my white Civic I have right now.

-I have this unhealthy obsession with the TV show the O.C. (If you haven't already noticed). I'm not kidding when I say obsessed. It kinda scares me sometimes.

-Also with the following: Radiohead, Puma gear... but I think we knew that. Just thought I'd reiterate that again. I won't buy ANY other sneakers except Puma. I think I just have issues period. ;)

-Ummm, I am deathly afraid of clowns.

-I've always had this lifelong mission of taking over the world with mind control devices. (I watch way too much Family Guy)

-I'm tall for an asian chick I guess.

-I woke up at 5am in the morning to stand in line for New Kids on the Block tickets when I was like in 5th grade or something.

Ok that's it for now.

I'm related to former Senator John L. McClellan. (My great-grandfather was his first cousin, and they grew up together).

I met Orval Faubus when I was a young'un.

I work for the oldest newspaper publishers in the United States. The Maryland Gazette first published in 1727.

I used to drink beers with Terry Bradshaw's nephew.

My family is full of twins (probably 6 or 7 sets), including my grandmother.

I have two pictures of my parents with Dick Cheney.

I have won around 35 national and regional newspaper advertising awards in the past three years. I've lost count, but I know it's over 30, and I stopped entering, since I now have to foot the damn bill.

I have been to the Hot Rod Diner on Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis and watched Joe Kent, the worst Elvis impersonator ever. To celebrate, we promptly drank ALL the beer in the joint. Even the hot cases of Dixie they had in the back.

I once lifted 500 lbs. that was sitting on the ground.

I take it yr. family is from Arkansas, KFR?

Orval Faubus?!?! I thought it was interesting when I met dudes who raised money for Wallace, but Orval's one of the original king hell race baiters. Wow.

I was born there, but we moved here in '85, when I was just shy of my 9th birthday. I then went back for 5 years in Ruston, La. before coming back here again. Most of my family is there, and I don't get to visit as much as I should. I don't really want to live there again, but there are definitely things I miss. A certain realness.

Nowt that I think about it, I was born not too far from the birthplaces of Johnny Cash and Bear Bryant. I think my grandfather grew up or went to high school with Red Parker.

And my father and I were born in the same hospital.

I played on some Bone Thugz Records, and a Mariah Carey B-side.

I played with the Platters for three nights. They hire musicians from town to town.

I'm in a grammy nominated group. Unfortunately, i got into the group 4 years after the nomination. Perhaps this album will do well, if we ever record it.

I played in the Disney Orchestra, The Orlando Ballet, and a bunch of other orchestras in FL, but only my first year teaching. That same year i played guitar in a punk band, bass in a jazz duo in a chinese buffet every other friday, and bass in a big band and a reggae band on carnival cruise lines.

But other than music, i'm really boring. I can cook though.

And I want to be Jon Brion. Or meet Jon Brion. Or have Jon Brion produce just one song of mine, so i can watch.

Off the top of my head:

I flew from NY to Atlanta the morning of 9/11/01.

Ummm, I practice TM if you consider that interesting.

I once got in to a GAP before they were actually supposed to be open for us peons. An employee there looked at his watch, said the store was not supposed to actually be open yet, but that I could stay "if you don't disturb her".

Went to try on some jeans and found myself face to face with Brooke Shields. She asked me how her jeans looked on her and we got to talking. We went out for brunch and it was fun. Very sweet, funny, intelligent gal.

Yes, my buddy's constantly tell me-"You coulda nailed Brooke Shields!!"

My first pet was a turkey.

I have owned chickens as pets almost my entire life (I own two very fat hens currently).

When I was a baby, my mom went to Olvera Street in Downtown LA to meet John F Kennedy (yes, I am that old!) -- he saw me, patted my head and told my mom I was a beautiful baby (made her day).

My great-grandfather on my father's side was one of Pancho Villa's soldiers. That same great-grandfather 'kidnapped' a local girl and made her his wife. She apparently went willingly.

I have dated two guys who have become famous via television or as writers.

I have done many illegal drugs in my life but have never been addicted.

I once had an affair with a married man.

I've flown to Scotland and Washington, DC for the sole purpose of meeting friends I've met on the internet.

I was conceived during my parents' honeymoon.

I am on a Primal Scream video -- footage taken at House of Blues Sunset.

I was on Fox News (national version) four years ago being interviewed at a post office during Christmas (big whoop).

When my car rolled off the assembly line, JFK was the president and not an airport.

I used to fly from JFK to SFO on Friday evening strictly for the dinner and free drinks in First. Took the turnaround red-eye back home.

I was in the circus for, like, five minutes.

My matchbox twenty love has been documented on national television.

I can touch my nose with my tongue.

My father once painted one of the members of the Village People (the cop, maybe?) kitchen lime green. Okay, so that one's not about me.

I have a habit of "shooting" (with the thumb and index finger gun) VW Bugs. I've been doing this since kindergarten.

I once collected bubble gum (you know that ball gum that came individually wrapped... sour something or other).

I've just realized how boring I am.

A font of mine was used for the opening credits of the third season of Degrassi: The Next Generation. It's a show in Canada, but is played in the US on Noggin. They gave me a credit at the end for the design of the font.

I really really don't like looking at forks and other pointed objects. I turn other people's forks upside down at the dinner table if they are pointing upwards at me. And when I drive by a spiked iron fence, I look the other way.

I've sleepwalked since I was about 11.

- Born in Saudi Arabia, living in London, American citizen (trying to get into Mexico back in Thanksgiving '02 was a hoot)
- 79 minutes younger than Angelina Jolie
- Growing up, I lived down the street from Jamie Farr's niece (Farr was Klinger from the MASH TV series)
- While in college, I participated in a 48-hour dance marathon to raise money for kids with cancer. "Thon" is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. I also made the first website for it back in '96.
- In summer 2001, I ran a 10K (~53:25) on Memorial Day and hiked to the peak of a 14,000 foot mountain in July.
- I waxed philosophy on a nation-wide sports talk radio show (I forget the name). Was listening to it in the car and felt the need to make some comments. I pulled into a 7-11 parking lot and called the show from a pay phone outside. Question: why do we support our sports teams? My answer: a sense of community.
- I was at the show where Built To Spill recorded "I Would Hurt A Fly" for their live album (Denver, Bluebird Theater, April 1999). Still my favorite show ever.
- I was at the show where DJ Shadow recorded his live DVD (London, Brixton Academy, October 2002). I'm in a crowd shot during "High Noon" at around the 1:20 mark. I'm the one wearing the new-school Cleveland Indians hat.
- I participated in the Lord Of The Rings' "Trilogy Tuesday" event, seeing the extended versions of the first two films and then the first public screening of Return Of The King. I was at the cinema for 12 hours or so. It was pretty great.

A couple more:

- I was in attendance at Wilco's first-ever gig. It was actually my second show of the evening (saw Pegboy earlier) and, while I enjoyed it, I was not blown away.

- I was in attendance at The Replacements' LAST-ever gig. July 4, 1991 at Grant Park in Chicago. They ended the show with an encore of "Hootenany", during which they handed their instruments off to the roadies, one-by-one, who finished playing the song for them. Paul introduced it by saying, "this is the last fucking time you're ever gonnna hear this goddamn song!" or something like that. At the time, I had no idea that it was their last show.

-I was on the cover of all National Newspapers (NY Times, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Newsday, etc) when I was 9 because I presented flowers to Princess Diana on her first trip to NY in the 1980's during a reception at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. I spoke to her for a while and she was incredibly nice and genuine.

-I wear women's size 11.5 shoes, and have since I was 10

I'm a spy in the house of love.

Err...I also got a brainstorm microphone napalm and words from a timebomb and my attack speed is fast as an F15. I raise the heat, light the gasoline, but I'm careful of the overload; it might cause a blackout and a dead end where there's no chance to back out. I often hit the tripwire,
duck from the gunfire, broken glass, screech'n car tires, bodies hit the deck, as I commence to wreck, eject another clip and drip sweat, face of danger, increasing anger, point blank I smoke another stranger.

Other than that, nothing special.
