I drink maybe twice a year. And I don't get drunk.

If I do, it's just because. Probably to just ease some tension.

Why isn't "opposite sex" an option?

I answered 'used to know' and it's sad that it is an honest answer for me.

Where is:

- because of my mother;
- alcoholic beverages are an acquired taste, and I've acquired the taste for alcoholic beverages;
- someone put a hex/curse on me;
- mimicking/mocking "Supersize Me";
- to take the edge off;
- for courage;
- because only Mai Tais make karaoke tolerable;
- one for the road (first one)/one more for the road (all the others)

...?

where i come from, its much easier for an underage kid to score drugs than alchohol, so most get either bored of drugs or fucked from drugs. I got bored, thus the bottle.

Alcohol's not too hard either. Legal age here is 18 but it's pretty easy to get drinks at 16, and everyone does.

I drink, but hardly ever to get drunk. Two reasons:

1. As a kid I was smart enough to realize that if I was getting into the kind of trouble I was while sober, I had no business getting drunk.

2. I'm not a happy drunk. I'm a mean ass motherfucker and say shit that can never be forgiven. Bad enough acting this way with friends, but no way am I ever going to treat my wife that way.

Haven't been drunk since my buddy's bachelor party last year and my wife was "safe" over 800 miles away.

Yeah, most of which I've come to grips with, but why light the dynamite if you don't have to.

I feel ya. That's actually a very mature response.

I don't drink as much as I used to either. Perhaps two beers in one night, if that.

Oh, if we're talking about cutting back, I have tremendously on both the bottle and extracuriculars. When I lived in NH I was drinking at least a half gallon of scotch a week, + beers every night.
