and get rid of the wire one or at least re-write it. that perspective has long permeated (plagued?) many a music writers' slates and it's played. think of another way to say it without sounding like ever other bitter, jaded j-ster i know.

Damn Chad, I just saw this, and I like your suggestion, but how to keep that under 1000 words is mind boggling to me.

Bloor killed me this morning on the bellwather thing as well.

What I really did, if it's not painfully obvious, is copy/pasted my long post, through an intro on that bitch and tried to pass it off as a column ;)

And Aaron: there is a reason that is the perspective on Wire, its true, but I've never seen anyone else put that out there before. Mattro fack, the opposite is usually true these days.

And I doubt I sound like most j-school students, as I have been graduated for 5 years, and skipped most of those classes anyway.

<------hasn't written a rekkid review since hs. (when bloor used to edit me..first one was Dr. Dre's Teh Chronic, biotches!!)

sure, but you do read, don't you?

not trying to be facetious, but the idea of "[seminal band] is WAY overrated" is not new. it's also not very funny, and the bent of most of your "reviews" tends toward funny. try making fun of the band instead of its fans. or vice versa.

No its not new, but with the preponderance of crap bands re-foisting this style upon us, I find it topical...
