Apparently, my girlfriend bought me a ticket to Coldplay in Alpine Valley (This upcoming Saturday) a couple of months ago and just told me yesterday. Should I be excited? Anyone catch them yet? What's the word dirty bird?

I got free tickets through work for the show here tomorrow night. I get to see them VIP style! I wasn't about to pay $50/ticket or whatever but I'm definitely excited to go for free. Now I can spend the $50 on two beers and a hot dog.

Sweet, over at Deer Creek right? Does VIP = Pavilion?

I saw them last summer... I think it was last summer... but it was a great live show. Perfect if you're going to be with your gf.

I'll be there. My friend hooked up free lawn tickets. It should be fun, I guess.

Yeah, it's Deer Creek (not Verizon Wireless Music Center despite what it says on the sign!). VIP box seats are in the middle of the pavilion and you get a great parking spot and a waitress. It's a pretty sweet deal. My work gets tickets to all the shows but the trade-off is we have to do work for ClearChannel. Anyway, sometimes the tickets fall to me and I just happend to get Coldplay which is the only even remotely decent show coming to Deek Creek all summer.

I wouldn't put too much energy into it.

No.

I thought the bird was the word. But you're asking the bird, so I have to deduce that for the bird, the word would be "people."

I'll be seeing them next month with my wife. One of the few bands we both can tolerate.

I can assure you my girlfriend doesn't cheat and that she is much more high-brow than a piece of shit like you.

I asked a girl to go with me to Coldplay and she said yes. I bought the tickets, but I have a feeling she is going to cancel. In fact, I'll be surprised if she doesn't cancel. In fact, she'll probably not even tell me she has no intention of going until the day of the concert arrives.

This happens to me all the time with friends. They'll be all "buy me a ticket dude" and I'll be like "Okay" and then they'll be like "I can't go because I'm busy/drunk/hungover" on the day of the concert and that sucks.

I totally forgot that I have a ticket to this show @ Alpine Valley. I can't go cause me and Cap'N are playing a gig.

Does anyone need a lawn ticket? Not sure exactly how I'd get it to you, but I would damn well try.

I can't tell you how many times I've been put in charge of getting tickets to a show for a whole bunch of people only to have several of them bail last minute. I now refuse to buy tickets for more than me, my girlfriend and maybe a friend or two. I don't rely on anyone to actually go to the shows they originally say they're going to.

Haq's right, they know what they're doing live. And maybe there won't be as many people there now who only came because of "yellow."

Yeah but more people that came because of "Clocks."

It would have been nice to see them before the big arena tours. I'm not much of a fan of shows in venues such as Deer Creek. You spend a lot of money and can barely see the band. Luckily, I got free tickets this time.

Every day I genuflect at the crinkled feet of my cardboard effigy of god to give thanks that my wife doesn't like girly shit like Coldplay.

This would've been my gf last year, but I'm working on it (i.e She's now a big dfa1979 fan.)

it could be a good time. you probably shouldn't be as excited as you were a month ago for another band, though.
