Any word on this? I think last year's album was one of the better, non crunktastic rap albums of the past 5 years or so.

The first single is kind of weak.

I liked College Dropout, but this guy is a one trick pony. Enough with the 80s songs with chipmunk voices already.

It's not like anyone will remember any of these people in 10 years anyway.

I hate everything he's done. I don't see the appeal.

i saw one of his performances on some MTV thing and i thought it was pretty spectacular.

also, i can see his appeal. a better than mediocre rap album that focuses on more introspective topics than getting fucked up in the club and bagin' some hoes.

"Diamonds from Sierra Leone" is stupendous. It is muted compared to "Thru the Wire", but probably not anymore substantial topically (I have yet to find the connection to the African civil wars), but I like. It's good for nodding my head and thinking about old kung-fu movies when I have down-time at the cinema.

(Movietunes has been playing this to fuck-all, along with "My Doorbell".)

(I find that second part odd, since my kino is an AMC, and that is the chain that has refused to run The Aristocrats due to its family-unfriendly subject. But, do they know what a bluesman means when he's talking about his doorbell? Really, now...)

"diamonds" relies to much on a kitchy hook. second single "gold digger" (featuring jamie foxx doing his best ray charles) is a lot more smooth like most of "college dropout"

More like Forevah, forevah evah, forevah evah, forevah evah, forevah evah, forevah evah!

I love how he just takes it until his voice can't go any higher.

That's the part of the song I dislike the most.

I haven't heard anything from this, but I really enjoyed about half of The College Dropout.

It's an R. Kelly moment of bad. Which makes it good...or really really bad. Same thing sometimes.

Doorbell is my fave song off the new Stripes.

That Diamonds song is beyond meh...I hate the fucking sample. But I thought that was a one-off single?

Also, in a Ryan Adams moment, Msr. West is apparently releasing "Graduation" in November.
