haha, i WISH it was scabies. i could totally pull that off.
the truth is i'm getting separated/divorced and trying to be a good guy about it, and letting my wife keep the place and helping her with rent til the lease is up in march or so, which means i have to pay 2 rents, which means my rent for my own place cant be as high as i would normally be able to agree to.

Good luck with that and sorry about the personal situation.

But I gotta say -- that's kind of an impossible situation -- any chance you could stay there (especially if you continue to pay rent)? I'm sure that's worse (been there), but if you're trying to be a good guy about it, it's worth considering. Financial turmoil/emotional turmoil/financial turmoil/emotional turmoil/...man, I don't envy you.

yeh, we've thought about it, but the truth is we've been living together as a couple [couple of what?] for almost 7 1/2 years now. it would just be too weird for us to keep on spending nights in diff't places whenever one of us felt uncomfortable about being in the same space. it's impossible not to run into each other in this apt, shit, even in this neighborhood. i feel like i'm trying to do right by her in at least some way even if this whole situation is going to be infinitely more difficult b/c of that fact.

ha, yes, the tra-la-la band. well, my friend and i were completely rapt the entire time. it would be nice to be able to put into words the feeling you get when you hear music like that live, and it's probably easier to just take the purely clinical route and say there were many moments where that warm rush of blood driving upwards from yr chest and over yr face until it kind of moved out the top of yr head...
we had many, many, many moments like that during their nearly 2 hour set [as best we could estimate].
there were also times where the band would begin singing in rounds and it seemed like the entire audience was right in it with them. it's so refreshing to see a show like that, where the barrier between audience and performer is completely torn down and it goes beyond the normal audience participation aspect of things...it's like this feeling of 'we're all in this together'.
which, if i understand them even just a little bit, is entirely the point.
