Other way around, fork in left, knife in right. The right hand's doing the delicate work... lefty's just sittin there holdin' shit still.

Eat with the fork in my right, but will switch to cut. After cutting, I put the knife down. & switch the fork back to my right.

And i don't do the hand switching thing to eat, my left hand's got the food ready to go, my left hand is my friend.

If we make this into a movie, we could qualify for the movie with the most instances of the word "fork".

I belive this is the "proper" way to do it but I agree with Phil, why bother? Fork in left, knife in right. Knife cuts so the fork can put food in my mouth, all other steps are unnecessary.

I do this too though I'm right handed. To do the reverse feels very strange and awkward to me.

Yeah, years of juggling has definitely improved the dexterity of my left hand.

Yes, I have some stoopid talents.

Sometimes I fork with my other hand, to make it feel like someone else is feeding me.

when i'm cutting something, i have the knife in my right and fork in my left. i routinely take a bite of whatever's on the plate with this set-up, usually doing some upside-down fork nonsense. otherwise, all primary utensils are held with the right hand. and i'm right-handed.

I've always had this dream that someday a knife-fork companion to the spork would be invented. The Knork. Except I don't know how you would keep the "knife" portion from cutting up your mouth. I always think of some kind of retractable cutting edge, but then it gets complicated and boring.
