a Mexi-caster, eh? Sitting next to me is a mexi strat. I wanted a vehicle for some decent pickups that had no home, so I plopped down $319 and got a metallic purple one.

[threadjackattempt]What kinda amp?[/attempt]

A little Fender Blues Jr. I had a stack with a late-70's marshall slant cab and a fender bandmaster head, but i didn't need it, AT ALL, and did need the $600. I bought it for a shade over $400, so I was happy even though I probably could have got $650-$700. I was going to trade out for a Hot Rod Deluxe till I tried to pick one up. Deceptively heavy. Plus I'm still learning, and really don't need much in the way of power.

Blue Jr is the perfect little amp. Low wattage, efficient speaker (=good volume), reverb... and it's tube in both the preamp and poweramp section, even if the circuitry is printed. Well done, sir.

I once had a marshall jcm 800 with 1960a lead slant cab m-self. I don't miss lugging it around, but it was perfect for the intro to Photograph.

Thanks! I did a fair bit of research, during which I was constantly hounded by my gear-obsessed friends' (like Phil) bias for tube amps. The Blues Jr. seemed like the price point, i.e. the cheapest tube amp with solid performance. Plus it looks great, imo.

Eat/write/throw, etc... - right
hockey - left
golf - right
box - left
bat- right

When I use to play bass it was right-haded, but I always play(ed) air-guitar left-handed, so I bet if I had had a lefty bass available when I took it up I would have played left-handed, (and probably would have played a lot better). I assume that I golf right handed only because I learned on a right handed set.

Left handed
My mom went to a Catholic School where they attempted to change her, and I had a 4th grade teacher who was a real bitch to me because I was left handed. With the advent of the electronic age, cursive writing is dead, so she can rot in hell.
My right hand is basically useless, but I can bat with either hand, although I am a horrid hitter either way.

Odd here...

4 out of 5 in my family are left handed.

I am left handed.

write = left
bat/swing/golf = right
eat = left
kick = left footed.

can use either hand for driving the mouse equally effectively.

i'm right-handed and would've quoted that "I can't do ANYTHING with my left hand" if i didn't have a nagging feeling that i can do at least something with my left. i seem to recall being told it was odd that i did one thing with my left when everything else is with my right, but i can't think of it. and i've thought of everything i do regularly.

Are your parents cousins?

Left-handedness is a recessive trait, I mean. I think you're in-bred.

You would think eh?

I'll have to check on that. What have they not been telling me?

My brother is the only right hander, and he looks more like my aunt than either parent. Humpf. Now im really screwed up.

Damn, Polly, that looks an awful lot like the Fender Sting sig model, which is just a reissued old tele bass. Great taste you have there! Guy I play with sometimes has a rick 4001, but yearns for a real, old tele bass.

Thanks Cap'n, yeah, I started out looking for a cheap shity bass to just play around on and ended up finding that. I'm paying $325 canadian for it which from the research I've done seems like a pretty good deal. Obviously if it were a Fender it would be more like $1325 (probably more).

I just went and put another wad of cash on it.... so it won't be long before it's mine oh mine. I'm so psyched. It's my first bass. (I've been meaning to buy one since, oh, 1993 or something.)

I am fundamentally right-handed, but sometimes I like to use the other hand to make it feel like someone else doesn't know what they're doing.

I believe there's software for that. In fact, it might just be under Settings->Control Panel->Mouse.

Just remember to switch it back when you're done. I'd hate to be a homewrecker.
