While AMT celebrates their 10th anniversary, Terry Riley... -- one of the most influential modern composers -- is celebrating his 70th birthday. On October 1st, Acid Mothers Temple will perform their rendition of Riley's seminal composition "In C" [TMT Review] (which AMT recorded back in 2001) at UCLA for a tribute concert to Riley. Electronic wizards Matmos will also be there, with a multimedia composition, "For Terry Riley," featuring samples from the Kronos Quartet's performance of Riley's "Sunrise of the Planetary Dream Collector." And to cap it all off, Riley will play a 'surround-sound reprise' of "A Rainbow in Curved Air."
