Just thought I'd let everyone know that Mrs. FT returned home from the hospital late this afternoon, to the delight of me and my entire family -- especially the progeny (I'm the paterfamilias). She's still got so many medications to take and tubes sticking out of her that a nurse had to stop by for a couple of hours this evening to show her exactly what she has to do now that she's no longer in the care of the hospital. According to the doctor, it will take another 4-6 weeks for the infection to completely clear up, but at least she's on the way to recovery.

I'm so very grateful to all of you for your support through all of this. The combined positive mojo eminating from the general direction of Obner was a miracle elixir!

I'm not sure I'd drink the elixir from 'round these parts.

It does have a little wang in it.

(Bonus points to whoever can identify that reference.)

Thanks, JLS. It was buried in the "Cotton Comes to Austin" thread, because it resulted in me having to cancel my long-anticipated summit with the legendary C. Nanker Worthington IV. I do appreciate the well wishes, my friend.

Thanks, Shawn. My recollection of the above quote is from The Hollywood Knights, when one of the cops drinks the punch which has been urinated in by Newbomb Turk...played flawlessly by a pre-Arli$$ Robert Wuhl. Other highlights of this film include a pre-The Nanny Fran Drescher incredulously asking Wuhl, "Did you cum?!?" and a pre-Taxi Tony Danza tearjerkingly preparing to be shipped off to 'Nam by making time with his best girl, a pre-Scarface Michelle Pfeiffer. What a freakin' LAUNCHING PAD this low-budget teen spank movie turned out to be!!!

As for the first day of 4th grade, I went up to school and had lunch with my first born, met his teachers (regular and special ed -- he has two), and sat at the table with the other boys in his regular class. They thought I was cool...because I was as big to them as a SIXTH grader!

Ohhhh, Bob, I am so glad to hear that the Missus is home. Even if she was sent home with tubes and meds, who cares? It's where she belongs...nestled safely in the arms of her husband and children. Her recovery is sure to be that much sooner.

By the way, at recess today, Suzie who's in the fifth grade heard from Katie who's friends with Mrs FT that Mrs FT has a crush on a certain sixth grader. ;)

I was also not aware your wife was ill. Glad to hear she's back home and doing okay. Get her one of those little bells so you can be on call if she should need anything.

Sorry to hear your wife was ill, but am glad to hear she's back home and doing okay. Home care is better than hospitals for convalescence.
