Hey, I got a stupid question. Is it Alex Is On Fire, or Alexis On Fire?

Cohen was born to a middle-class Jewish family in 1934 in Montreal, Quebec - wikipedia

Hey Bonor,
HAve you seen that band The Besnard Lakes, who I gather are from Montreal? I've been digging that record quite a bit but can't find any information on them really.

Lincoln hasn't really produced anyone real famous or known bands that I have liked.
Matthew Sweet is probably the most well-known
James Valentine of Marroon 5 is from here.
My personal favorite currently is The Golden Age, who has toured with Rilo Kiley and Neva Dinova.
Defunct bands that were reputable in the area that I like are Mercy Rule and For/Against and Pablo's Triangle. Most of Pablo's Triangle is now Head of Femur and live in Chicago.
Presto! Studios which is responsible for most of the Saddle Creek Library and ran by Mike and AJ Mogis, who play with Saddle Creek bands is probably the biggest musical accomplishment for this city.

ARCHIE BELL AND THE DRELLS!!!

And until Afterburner, I'd have to go with ZZ Top.

As for Dallas, there are a trio of legendary guitar heroes who would hold the top three spots:

3. Steve Miller (shared with Milwaukee)
2. T-Bone Walker
1. Stevie Ray Vaughan (shared with Austin)

The only band that I know of from the city I currently live in:

http://www.cufftheduke.com/

They're not too bad, though.

I used to live in Toronto though, and the multitude of bands from there is unbelievable.

I've seen the Besnard Lakes a couple of times, most recently opening for Comets on Fire and Growing. They have their moments, but I mostly find them pretty stiff, playing regimented ambient sections within wonky rock songs. Not my thing entirely.

Where are Trans Am from? I think they're local, because they play around here all the time.
