Someone told me about this today and I didn't believe them. I can't see how I didn't know this was in the works. Joaquin Phoenix as The Man in Black. The trailer makes it seem almost good. But biopics usually suck. See Ray, The Buddy Holly Story, etc.

Maybe someone has posted on this and I didn't see it. I ran a search and found nothing in the archives.

It seems he's doing the singing too. I concur. A hard suck it will be.

This could be real bad.

I don't have a problem with The Buddy Holly Story though. It's not great by any means, but I think they did a decent job considering they were working with a life that ended at 22.

I used to work for IATSE (the stagehand union) while this was filmed and had a chance to be on set for a couple days. All I can say is if it sucks, it's not for lack of effort from either the cast or crew. What I saw got me pretty excited to see it.

 Whatever. I thought Ray was fucking awesome.

I'm VERY interested to see if this Cash movie is good.

The Buddy Holly Story was fucking good, too.

Also interested.

Ray was pretty good.

I can see Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash. I'll probably go see this unless it gets universally terrible reviews or something.

Ray was tight, but a lot of it had to do with little shit like him meeting Q on the street, or Booger as Ahmet Ertegun. I have an UNHEALTHY obsession with Johnny Cash and what he means to me is almost indescribable, so I am gonna go into this with a healthy dose of scepticism, especially with Joaquin as Cash, cos, he got a hairlip, he sorry.

I'm joking which probably doesn't read well. OPA got the impression that Bloor was part of some huge gay conspiracy, and then you started expressing your man-crush for Johnny Cash.

Yeah, more in a reverence, not "wanna get ass plowed by" kind of way. The difference between you love for your grandfather and the love that shall not speak its name.

Ray was good.
Buddy Holly was good
Cash, don't know yet, but it does have Shooter Jennings as his daddy.
