hookey?

I don't know shit about hockey. Maybe if they would give Cincinnati a team, instead of shafting us with minor league teams...

In.

Is scoring/ format up for discussion?

Unless there will be over 16 people in this league, I think we should start 2 goalies and add Saves as a stat category. Otherwise we'll barely be using half the starting goalies in the NHL.

I'd also be in favor of dropping Face-off Wins.

Just my $.02

Just get everyone on board and then we'll discuss stat categories.

I had a ton of trouble getting in early on too. Sign in to your Yahoo acct & then try it. If that doesn't work go to the fantasy home & say you wanna sign up for a custom league & when it prompts you enter the details

Yeah, you can't follow the link, you have to sign up for a private league and then enter the info for this league.

If we get to 9 & can't get that 10th may I suggest a phantom team? Just enter a team & let it draft itself. Then week to week it doesn't get managed. Min number of players, no free agency beyond that, no trades. Just put together the bare minimum roster & leave it. It's purely there to prevent anyone having to face a bye week that having an odd number of teams would insure. Yes we face the possibility of losing to a phantom team but considering it won't be managed I'm willing to take that risk once every 9 weeks. I guess we've got a month to decide & even recruit from the outside if need be. Of course if we get 8 or 10 we don't have to do this.

By the way hockey fans: Anyone heard this big 3 way deal FLA, VAN & NJ? It looks like either Bertuzzi or Jovo plus Cloutier to FLA along with a NJ player or 2. Then Brylin & Luongo to VAN. NJ gets picks from both since they're over the cap. Loungo in VAN even if it costs them Jovo or Bertuzzi I think makes them the team to beat in the West.

I would be totally and utterly shocked if there was even a kernel of truth to that rumour. And I don't agree that such a trade would make the 'Nucks a better team. Quite the opposite, in fack.

In my book Bertuzzi is overpaid at 5 million. 3 times in the last 5 seasons he finished with 25 or fewer goals, last year before the suspension he was on pace for 20. 6 goals in 24 playoff games doesn't sound like a 46 goal guy. You can bring in a bunch of big bodies to skate with Naslund that can do that for a lot cheaper. Jovo is not coming back next Summer unless you dump salary. Dump Bertuzzi or dump Jovo & a chance at maybe the leagues best goalie when all you've got is Cloutier isn't a good deal?

Bertuzzi's stats are misleading. He's been on an upward curve ever since the Canucks acquired him, plus he's way more than merely a "big body". He's a finesse player who also happens to be fairly large brute - and the new NHL should benefit him greatly (if the rules are actually called). There's no way Bertuzzi will get traded out of Vancouver without an airtight reason - this town is still hurting over losing Cam Neely, fer chrissakes.

Jovo's another matter. Next year someone will have to get traded (or dumped) to make some cap room, but whether it'll be Jovo or Ohlund remains to be seen. Personally, I'd stay with Jovanovski because, as good as Ohlund is, he's never fully recovered from that serious eye injury and seems to have a pretty large blindspot.

And I'm one of the few who believes in Cloutier's ability. I think he's one of the most underrated players in the league. He's an athletic, reactionary goaltender, and the smaller pads, the new rules, and all of this new NHL riggamarole will only help him (it'll also help Luongo, don't get me wrong). So while I agree Luongo is the real deal, I just don't see how this trade would help the Canucks.

I'd take Luango in a heart beat...Easily one of the best young goalies in the league...If he went to the west, I'd like it being a Flyers fan...I also read about that possible Toronto trade for Luango+ Boumester for (Sundin and 1st pick)..I sure hope that don't happen...I'd hate to see the Laffs get such a good young goalie and a good d-man...

Yo Damen you read Eklund's Blog ???

Yeah. He's on a lot of the time. I usually only believe it if it makes sense & he gives it an (E2) rating or higher & I take everything with a grain of salt. But so far he's way better than the Toronto papers which was the main rumour starter in years past. And other than Roenick I don't think ESPN broke a story all Summer.

He caught me good earlier this week he reported Rucchin was the odd man out in ANA. And I thought no way in hell they're trading Rucchin who's gonna center the 2nd line? Few hours later Leclerc is traded & I'm thinking Eklund was wrong then a few hours after that Rucchin was traded.

Yesterday he had Lydman going to LA & Miller going to BUF. But Lydman went to Buf so now I'm half expecting Miller to go for Lydman
