aw damn man, i feel you. it's been HOT summer so far.

just over the weekend i went up on the roof and put down a coat of elastomeric paint. i have a flat roof [most spanish revival/historic homes do], and the roof was just the black top. shit was getting up to 126 degrees, and now with the paint it's down to about 15-18 degrees less. i've noticed a difference bigtime inside, as the roof was heatin' this place up quite a bit.

seafoam, you callin' someone to fix it tomorrow? does your unit push all day just to keep your place cool?

yeah, calling this ace guy that does all our properties, but he's tough to get a hold of. I set the temp at 80 when i leave, but it runs about every 15 mins. or soto hold it.. I've been expecting this of late. The AC is fairly rustic looking, and we never managed to upgrade when we bought the house a few years ago. We've gotta a barrel tile roof and even one of those old central fans that still works, but i aint opening the windows to crank it up. I'll just have to suffer in silence. At least the wife and kid are away for the week, so I can get it fixed.

I'm in a coolwave too, but August was brutal here. Most of my outside plants are kaput. Those that have survived, are knock, knock, knocking on heaven's door.

That really sucks. Thank god I only had to endure a night free of AC one time this summer... I slept uncomfortably downstairs on a couch 3 feet shorter than I am. It sucked.

I hope you get it fixed soon, either that or it cools down outside for you.

80 degrees sounds nice. it's been fucking ridiculous in richmond for some reason.
