I love my homegirl Neko, but she slays as a rock vocalist on the NP albums. Destroyer- come on. This Night is one of the most boring records ever made. Their release last year was a nice surprise, but Bejar would have been better served to stick with the lo-fi stuff on City of Daughters.

Newman & company are pros, much better than some hack like Rivers Cuomo. I really don't get what's not to like if you dig pop records.

I've said it before but I didn't much care for EV, though I didn't think it was awful. I feel exactly the same way about The Slow Wonder. Doesn't make me want to shut it off but doesn't really grab me either. With the buzz surrounding this new one I'm really curious to hear it but Newman and Co. have not impressed me yet so I'm not getting my hopes up.
