i may be completely making this up in my head, but for some reason i think run dmc sampled the bassline from the stone roses fools gold a buncha years back. can anyone confirm or deny?

if i am making this up, then somone should get on it.

today i was listening to Harry Chapins "disco" period, and shits a gold mine of samples.

so if anyone wants to make a Jay Z diss song, i offer you the haunting strings and single note bass line followed by the spookily sung "But high up on the mountain, when the wind is hitting it, if you're watching very closely, the rock . . . slips . . . a little bit"
