I had decent success with Amoeba and Arons...

Second Spin in Santa MOnica was pretty good as well..

Or Fingerprints in Long Beach. I found myself getting more bang for my buck there than at Amoeba.

Fingerprints is in Long Beach. Off 2nd St. It's really close to where I live, so I tend to do my sell-backs there (if I don't have time for Amoeba). I find that Amoeba has a WAY better used selection (of course)... Dov you're coming to Cali in Jan. right? If you want to check out Fingerprints, I'll take you. It would be about 1/2 hr- 40 mins. south of where Amoeba is.

I like Fingerprints, but it's a bit far away from me -
I think I still have $20 or so in credit slips for there too...

Ebay is a good place. I often sell used cds for more than I bought them.

Dov you could do this--- When you're driving from Anaheim to Hollywood take the 405 North to the 22 West which turns into 7th St make a left on Park & take Park to 2nd. Park where ever you can after you pass 2nd & it's 1 block over on Roycroft & 2nd (both Roycroft & Park are 1 way streets). 2nd St is a pretty cool spot, lots of bars, shops, places to eat & if you take 2nd south to PCH about 3 miles there's an In n Out

I'm not sure from there what would be the fastest way to Hollywood, 405 to 110 or La Cienega or 710 to various options, Dri?

They're actually off a block you get the idea http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&lr=&q ... 5864013807

Dov is the NAMM thingy going on that week or something? At the Anaheim Convention Center? If you want to check out Fingerprints, I get off work at 5- and my work is off Katella. It'd be easier for me after work, because on weekends I'm usually up in LA.

But I'm still down for an Amoeba session, I haven't been there in awhile.

And Dalen- there's no exit to Anaheim from the 405. ;) Usually the 57, 5 or 91 will do the trick. And to get up to LA from the LBC, 710N-5N-101N. Takes only 20 mins. or so depending on traffic.

That was me not Dalen. I shoulda known Anaheim doesn't hit the 405 after all those 80's Angel games. so what the 57 to the 405 or the 22 comes close to Anaheim doesn't it? I remember taking that to games

DUH. I'm retarded. I was sitting here thinking, "What? Dalen moved to LA?!" HAHAHA.

Oh, what a day.

405S-22W-57N---> that's how I get to work. Angel Stadium is off Katella. You know that big white bldg right next to the stadium? That is where the evil corporation resides.

There are also these stores:

Penny Lane
Moby Disc
Poo-Bah Records

Btw, visiting Poo-Bah's is worth its weight in gold visiting it in person versus viewing their website selection.

I might go to Poo-bah's actually. That was the place I always went to as a kid/teenager. Cool place for such a damn small place. I remember bootlegs being available there back in the day as well.

It's in Pasadena....so definitely not near Santa Monica or Anaheim (which aren't close to one another either actually). Cool place though...but very small. I've also heard good things about Fingerprints so you should definitely check that out. You might want to check out Rhino Records in Westwood...haven't been there in awhile but I remember it as a cool place. Relatively close to Santa Monica too.

Hey, Patrick, I think Poo-Bah's has been relocated since you were last there -- bigger store. Small or not, though, definitely worth checking out.

Wow I guess it has. I'll check it out and thanks for the heads up or I would be banging on someone's front door right about now.

I work near Rhino.... it's really gone downhill the past few years. Never have what I'm looking for, and not obscure stuff either. I wouldn't include it in a grand LA record store tour - it'd be worth the extra 20 min. to go to Arons...
