Help!
My face got a little sunburned at the baseball game on Sunday and I'm starting to peel.
Normally I'd just tough it out, but I've got a date tomorrow night and don't want to resemble a molting desert rattler.

Any suggestions?

Nivea for Men has got some shit including a little exfoliation pad/scrubber that might work. They sell that shit everywhere.

christ NO. that shit is SO harsh for your face!!!!!

for the convienence factor, try the neutrogena blackhead eliminating daily scrub. it works just as well to exfoliate... not to mention eliminate blackheads and make the pores look smaller. and it's not harsh on your skin, but you can actually feel it working. plus it works for BOTH men & women, so it's not a girly-girl type of product. you can find it at any local drugstore.

you need to very very gently exfoliate but really you need to moisturize!

this thread was a little homoerotic right from it's inception.

Agreed Phil.
I actually thought Chris would the one who would be of the most help, 'cept I forgot about one important thing.

Guess I get what I deserve.

This is straight from our fabulous Russian facialist:

You can exfoliate, but do it mildly. Don't scrub the hell out of your skin, be gentle and be sure to find a gentle product.

Then you need to use something to cool it off otherwise you will find yourself with some irritation(meaning the peeling will be the least of your probs). She actually recommended sour cream. To apply it like a mask for a short while. Then to follow up with a cooling mosturizer(you can find something decent in the drugstore if you don't want to spend a lot or venture into a dept store).

I don't think you really deserve that.

Noxema is awesome for sunburn.

Take it from an Irish blooded lad who played little league baseball as an outfielder for 10 years. It is refreshing, and keeps your skin from peeling all over the place.

The best advice for this sort of thing is take some cold plain yogurt and rub it on your face. It's the best remedy for sunburn. Don't waste your money on moisturizers, etc.

And I'm being serious.

I'm past the burn stage - there was never any pain associated with a bad burn.
It's just that I'm flaking like a leper in a snowstorm.
Will the sour cream/yogurt solutions work toward that end?

Thanks to everyone who's chimed in thus far. And Jen, thank the RUssian facialist too,

In that case, I find that Jergens is the best when it comes to keeping your sun-tanned skin from peeling.
