I'm playing guitar w/ another dude at a friend's wedding. one of the songs he wants us to do is 'here comes the bride,' and it's amazing how shitty I can make that song sound, and that just won't fly. has anyone a) played for a wedding and/or b) know the correct way to play this song?

I know Busty and the Cap'n played one recently. They should have some advice.

I think they sang one or two songs and then did some instrumental songs.

I haven't played (there isn't a big demand for mouth trumpet), but everyone will be so focused on the bride and groom that it won't matter what you play or sound like. Two guys from a friggin' ska band played at my friend Dan's wedding last summer and there were no complaints.

I've played hundreds of string quartet gigs for weddings, and a good 45-50 weddings on solo guitar.

I can hip you.

cool. the bride and groom picked a handful off songs that they want us to play, which won't be a problem, but 'here comes the bride' is just sounding goofy. and we'll have to probably have to have a couple extra in the hopper in case we run out of time.

Also, close your set with a flaming guitar solo. Bring matches and lighter-fluid, I mean.
