PLEASE EXCUSE ME WHILE I RANT, YOU GUYS ARE MY FRIENDS AND THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE HERE FOR. RIGHT?..........GUYS?........ARE YOU THERE?

I'm just happy I have AAA Car Service. I've had it for a couple of years, and it has proved itself usefull in a couple of tight spots. But the past for days have been A.F.R. (ABSOLUTELY FUCKING RIDICULOUS).
It started on Sun. night when I was leaving a friends house and my car would not start. Not because I left the lights on and the battery died which is the usual case. In fact the battery was fine, everything else worked, just nothing happened with the engine when I turned the key. So Nicole let me borrow her car and first thing Monday I called AAA and had it towed.
The FIrestone replaced the starter and I got my car back Monday evening to the tune of $700.
Tuesday about 11 AM I'm downtown on a sales call go out to my car and it won't start again! So once more I call AAA and have it towed to the Firestone by my house. They call later and say that they put in a faulty starter and need to replace the relay switch.
This morning I get my car back around 10:30 and drive to Buckhead to meet with some more clients. I get out to my car and AGAIN the piece'o'turd will not start. I called my father and told him what was going on and he informed me that he was not a mechanic so did not know what to tell me. I told him that I know he is not a mechanic so I did not expect him to know, but I am pretty sure he is my father so he has to listen to me bitch before I take it out on some poor, sheltered, pregnant, Buckhead soccer mom, who just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Somehow on the 5967th try my car decides it wants to start, I call the Firestone and tell them to open the hatches I'm coming in. When I get to the Firestone I'm greeted by a gang of greasemonkeys armed with tire irons, socket wrenches, and other oily black tools that I have no idea the function of, but sure of the damage they could cause to my skull. I guess they would rather ASK ME what was up with the car know instead of me walking into the lobby to ASK THEM VERY LOUDLY what the hell kind of business they are running.
The greasemonkeys sent there leader over, a sleeveless, ebony, bohemoth named Sam, to barder for the lives of he and his crew. We worked it out that he was to order a new starter from Nissan similar to the one he originally removed, and the monkeys would live. I in order to escape unscathed must patiently wait until FRIDAY and leave quietly, NOW. So I go back to my car to leave AND IT WONT START. I beat my head on the wheel for a few minutes until Sam returns with 5 or 6 guys to remove me from my vehicle. I walked the few blocks home and from there is where I write to you now.

THIS IS NOT OVER YET!

THANKS FOR LISTENING

BKT

except in nyc, where public transportation is waaaaaay better than having a car.

get a new used (salvaged) car or find another mechanic. or stick a hidden camera in your engine and see if they're sabotaging your car. :)

Really? How many foxy girls stop your car and get in every morning? If you get a bus that goes past the colleges, I'd say you average about 15 to 20.

...unless you live in NY (already mentioned) or Chicago, or really any city with a decent number of bus and train routes. I am waiting patiently for December to come so I'll be done with school in the 'burbs and I can finally be car-free.

I have to get a front end alignment tomorrow and my brake light has been on for like the past 3 weeks so I'm just waiting for the brakes to go any day now.

Does the starter burn out all the time? Is the key getting stuck in the forward position?

I had this whith my old truck. It was due to the ignition system on the column. Had to replace it as it was not bouncing back and burning the starter.

That was fun tearing apart the column

Mentioning Chicago in the same breath as NYC is all sorts of wrong.

Until you find a previous owner, in a futile attempt to remove the steering wheel, pounded the shaft with a hammer, mushrooming the thread. :nono:

I know. NYC is much too congested for my tastes.
