So We made it back safely from the NASCAR race in Bristol Tennessee. Crazy. Thank god I took the day off from work today ahead of time.

Random notes (plus more to come later):
-NASCAR fans have a lot of money. A lot of it.
-Everybody camped around us in the RV park was from up north. Wisconsin, Ohio, 3 from Indiana, etc. We did finally run into a group of crazy old men from GA.
-Everybody was so damn nice and hospitable, almost to a fault, that it was rediculous. People will gladly give you food, booze, help with something, etc. without a second thought....
-The races were really fun: Friday night's Busch race was delayed by rain, but Saturday night went off without a hitch.
-That was some fun shit.

This is a pic from my seat on Friday night:

More pics later.

I thought you had gone to Bristol, England. Instead you went to see cars drive around in circles.

Those are 3 buddies that I went with: Hassler, Captain Redneck (behind thw wheel), and Nicky 6. We borrowed the golf cart from these really nice people with the most insane RV ever (leather couches, flat screen TV's, DirecTV, marble counter tops, etc.) I also drove a four wheeler really fast through crowds of people.

Then there are just complete freaks like these people:

I'm not really sure how they pulled it off. It was just one of those moments were I was glad I had a camera handy.

Yeah, I havent drank that much canned beer (or beer for that matter) in a long time. The great thing about NASCAR is that you can bring your own beer into the race.....Dangerous. (Though I did buy an $8 Crown and Coke that was so strong it made my eyes water.

And yeah, I did eat some really good BBQ from a place near the track. People were cooking all kinds of crazy stuff and I sampled a bit of it all.

Glad you made it home alive bro.

Looks like it was mong-tastic. I'll need to hear all the seedy details when we're not in an open forum and the authorities aren't watching your posts.

Your complete focus will now be turned to.......

I'll second, third, and fourth that I'm glad you guys made it there and back.

I know when I talked to ya yesterday you were bored as a mother fucker. I did NOT envy that ride back. But I do wish I was there to hang with you guys at the race.

Maybe next year.

More pictures, or just email 'em to me if you can't show them here.

Ok so this guy had a rubber snake on a fishing line and was reeling it across the road to scare people. Juvenile, but hilarious. He told me he usually uses a Canadian dollar but decided the snake might be fun:

The snake is down there on the ground.

I hope you managed to have fun and didn't wind up babysitting any 200lb drunken monkeys.

Actually saw some black dudes walking around on Saturday and (fortunately) I didnt witness them being subjected to the same bullshit as you and your wife have in the past.

I'm sure it was in the minds of some folks though......

Visual proof you can drive as far north as you'd like and still find a redneck hillbilly to laugh at.

Damn straight Rads; I've met them everywhere including some complete and total hayseeds in a strip club outside of Whistler BC.

This one is of the scene in our tent when I woke up yesterday. Nicky 6 decided to buy a tire (yes, it came home strapped to the roof....sad, really)

you just described my personal hell - but glad you had fun.

and i never knew any rich racing fans - people that have enough money to race are rich - but hell, all my in-laws love racing and go to races all the time and most of them are making bankruptcy payments and live in houses with at least one rooster on a chain in the back yard.
