I'm glad I only have to work 1 day out of the next 6, even though I don't have that far of a drive.

I have to go get some gas today though because it was just about on E yesterday.

Well, the shit has hit the fan.

I got an email from my mom telling me to go get gas immediately because the prices were going up and people were swamping the gas stations.

I left to go get gas and sure enough, lines down the fucking street. The prices have already gone up about 20 cents. People are freaking I guess. I witnessed two squabbles about someone jumping on a pump that they were waiting for. IT'S ANARCHY PEOPLE!!

Sheeeit. Remember when five bucks could take you somewhere?

I can honestly remember filing up my 79' chevy truck (back in my truck days) with $ .89 a gallon gas.

That was only 10 years ago.

You bastards. We were getting sucked dry at the unreasonable rate of $.95 per gallon in MD.

My dad e-mailed me and said pumps in Mid-GA are dried up. It's $2.75 for regular in Nashville. No jumping to get to the pumps here. I should probably go ahead a fill up for my 13 hour both ways trip down to Americus, GA this weekend. A co-worker's sister called from Asheville, NC saying pumps are dry there too.

LOL!!! I spit out a Mentos onto my keyboard......

Also, I just called my dad on the FLA coast to tell him to fuel up and it says the cell towers are out from the hurricane. Funny, I just talked to him about 4 hours ago.

Oh, horror of horrors!
My mom just emailed me and said gas was 3.59 a gallon... don't know where she saw that, probably on the news (she lives in Fayette County with Yail).

I'm just glad the weather is nice, and I have a bike. I'm gonna avoid the gas stations and try not to worry about this for the time being. Everybody freaking out and trying to get gas at the same time is just gonna fuck things up worse, obviously.

However, my folks were planning on coming into town for a visit this weekend, and my girlfriend had planned a beach trip with her friends. We'll see how those work out.

hmph, actually just heard on the radio that it will probably come down a bit by the weekend once this reserve supply kicks in.

Also one of my employees just came in to tell me that its pretty universally $3.29 in the area right now. Apparently this one Circle K is selling it for $2.75 and has a 1/2 mile line.

i love how people will wait in an hour long line to save 10 bucks.

they even have "pump patrol" on the local news here so they can show you how where the cheap gas is - way the f out in the middle of nowhere, but i guarantee some people with way too much time on their hands drive all the way out there.

I just talked to my buddy who is a regional manager for BP, he sounded a bit dazed by the craziness going on allover town. People fightingand shit.

The Mardi Gras line is down, but the Houston line is still up and running. We should see dry pumps sporadically over the next few weeks.

BP i've beeen assured will not price gouge. Expect to spend in in the low $3.20's for gas.

What do you mean "don't do shit?" I have a Prius with a 10.6 gallon tank, and I usually average between 45-50 miles to the gallon on it. And yes, there are ways to drive so you're getting the maximum battery power vs. gas engine power (works perfect on cruise control at high speeds too). The only time I drive below 25 is when I'm in stop and go traffic.
