thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm really not trying to make a big deal out of this, especially considering the shit everyone else has been through lately. She was very old (almost 15) and mostly blind and deaf. We kepts her as long as we could, but she was getting to be a problem (walking into things, including a swimming pool where she came extremely close to drowning. it would've been funny it wasn't so terrifying.), in addition to other health problems. she was the last survivor of a litter of 8 that we had in our house, and it's kinda sad to see her go, since she was there through all of my teenage/college years, etc...
