Uwe Schmidt -- used to be prolific as all git, then moved to ...Chile? I think...and his output has since dwindled to practically nothing. I picture him sitting on a beach a la The Dude slurping down the last of a Mai Tai through a straw, a waiter comes over and asks him if he'd like another, and he says, "No, I really should get started on that album...oh, what the hell, sure go ahead" as he flops back down on the deck chair.

Yeah, I wonder what happened to Mr. Schmidt, aka Atom Heart, aka Señor Coconut, aka Midisport, etc. I wouldn't put him up for a lifetime achievement award or anything, but all his stuff that I heard was pretty cool, if a little too similar.

It was a joke son. I just thought it'd be funny if I put up a slacker as my hero.

He made an album called Digital Superimposing back in 1997 and it's probably one of the most overlooked ambient albums ever made.

Uwe also went under the alias Lassigue Bendthaus for awhile and made a record called Render. It was huge in the industrial scene when it came out and was definitely one of his best, if not his best non-ambient album. It's a true gem in every sense of the word.

I know I have Render (also have Render Audible) -- one of my favourite under-rated albums from the era -- but not sure if I have Digital Superimposing -- will have to go back and check to see if I have that one...I pretty much bought everything he put out back then...

You said it would be forever, and that was your vow....

I cannot b'lieve there is something more unlistenable to your ears than mine*

Musically, she's very solid, and unexpectedly 'adventurous'.

But, I mostly appreciate her for being a woman with hairier pits than I. Makes me more steadfast in my refusal to shave my back.

the worst.

i think a song needs to have a 'tune'...but that's just me. The acapella's on this album are horrid horrid. I don't mind if you like this, but how the hell is it a masterpiece? I've farted better melodies.

Thanks for 30 years of not taking the day job.
