Three days of meetings that have nothing to do with my job.

Principal's too tied up to even see if there's any money in any budget for me to get ANYTHING to teach music.

Therefore, I can't write lesson plans because I don't know what I will have, I just know what I already have (which is jack shit).

Kids come on tuesday, and I'm just going to have to wing it.

I'm supposed to turn in two weeks of lesson plans next week.

This is sucking my will to live, and I haven't even seen the little shits yet.

How's the whole dieting/quitsmoking/drinking thing working out?

Last weigh in was 9 pounds I believe.

Any Cardio? I feel you man. It's that first month or two that's tough to get through.

But seriously, how awesome would that be if we all organized a massive trip like that?

That's maybe something to think about perhaps next Summer. Maybe not Greece but somehere in the US would be awesome.

13.5

no cigs, no booze, no carbs, biking 3.2 miles to school every day.

I'm hanging in there, but i've got a LOOOONG way to go before i can hit on the cute 7th grade teacher.

right on, Phil! That's great! Let's see... I had drinks over the weekend... I had a beer on Wednesday night... I just consumed half of a fish burrito for lunch... yeah, I kept with my plan real good. Good job sticking with your plan!

Well dana let's do the math...

1. You're a very attractive woman, so you can get some action whenever you damn well feel like. That whole law of supply and demand thing. I'm fat, bald, and ugly. I can't change the last two.

2. You're happily married anyways. If for some reason that changed, refer to 1. Also, divorce favors the woman. Guys know this, but forget about it until they're in hot water. But that's not the case, so no worries. I hang out with dudes. Yeah, we make music and get paid to do so, but at the end of the day, it's a sausage fest.

3. You're not obese. You can revisit your plan at a later date, should you so desire. I on the other hand need to get skinny so I can fucking get somewhere in the music industry, or with the cute 7th grade teacher. Or not. But still, i have more motivation to stick with my plan.

When you tally it up, you're relatively happy, and I basically hate my life and myself, so that's my motivation to stick with it. :)

ok, let's do the math again....

1. Bald can be good... I think it's better to shave it all off than to do some comb-over shit. Many guys are very attractive with bald heads, so don't sell yourself short there. I have never met you in person so I can't judge you on your looks based on a few posted photographs... likewise for me.

2. Yes, married, no plans to divorce, but glad to know I still got "it." ;)

3. I may not be obese now (and even that's debatable when going by national height/weight ratios), but there was a time when I was 40 lbs overweight, before obner days. I did Weight Watchers and lost it in 8 months. It takes time but it can be done. I'll have you know that it's been harder to keep off than it was to lose it.

Don't be unhappy with your life... let's see...

- you can play a musical instrument, something I have never been able to do (and am incredibly envious of those who can)
- you live in happenin' Chicago where I'm sure there's never a dull moment
- you have good friends around you
- you have a sweet and adorable pup-pup
- you give of yourself with your music teaching, which although may seem thankless now, will mean the world to some child. I still remember my music and chorus classes with fondness.

So, there ya go. Things aren't so bad, right? Besides, new endeavors bring new discoveries about yourself, and that's never a bad thing, even if it's hard getting there.

I'm in the same boat as Phil. I've been trying to lose weight and get in shape, etc., so I understand what he's going through. It's not just about the weight. It's more of a lifestyle and self-image issue. I totally understand.

You'll be fine, Phil. Just stick to your plan and as hard as it is right now, time will heal everything.

Time to get skinny, get on with my life, and take over L.A.
