I can't speak for everyone, but I haven't seen any character from a CBS sitcom since the early 90s. (I realize that's not quite what you're looking for, though)

George declined to appear on the show because he thought that the way they killed Susan was in bad taste. It apparently offended his delicate sensibilities.
