I'm listening to Home right now and really enjoying it.
Good songs.
Good playing.
Good harmonies.

Some of the production is a little over-slick, but for the most part, they seem to keep it pretty simple. And they're one of the few Nashville bands still playing actual Country music instead of pop music with steel guitars.

I like 'em.
And I don't even think they're that cute.

You don't like short, fat chicks, or one of them crosseyed?

I am sure I am in the minority around here, but yeah, I likes me some chicks songs. GREAT Harmonies. I agree with the overslickness, but that is part and parcel of all country these days.

I know Bloor is a fan.

Flyer was pretty much on repeat for the entire time Sharon was in labor with Ethan. Love that album.

And yeah, there are other female country singers that I like more than the Chicks, but I'm just sayin', I love's me some Dixie Chicks, too, on occasion.

(The disc is actually Sharon's, but I grab it every so often... like today.)

NP: Iron Maiden - Killers
(so there!!!)

Have always wanted to like them because they've always come across as if they're 100-percent aware of industry bullshit, and for songs like "Sin Wagon."

But they'll have to get a little grittier before I listen to them regularly.

Saw them at Lilith Fair in '99 and was really impressed by their set. First time I heard the Earl-had-to-die song, which I thought was pretty great at the time. Appreesh.

Yeah, that pretty much gets it. Sorry, I guess I lose another 18 points in indie-cred but those broads can sing and play so whats to hate on?

I do wish it wasnt so slickly produced. The last album was actually just a bit grittier. They should do an album with a righteous Rock producer though.

For overslick faux-country, I prefer Shania.

Better topic is which one of the Dixie's that you might want to mount?

I'm partial to the little heifer; She seems like she'd be a pistol in the sack

I heard some random bluegrass song that featured one of the Chicks. I dug.

Don't know much about their work as a group, though.

I hated their version of Landslide but don't feel one way or the other about the other Dixie Chicks songs I've heard.

You're a poet, Bloor.

But maybe I say that because I agree. I like that Natalie Maines.

Oh. My. Got. Is it Patty "Tania" Herst or Monica Lewinski impersonating Ms Maines?

Dunno about my poetry (though I reallyappreesh the sentiment Dog.....) but Ms Maines is really, really a P.O.A. that we should focus our lasers on.

Holy Shit. Talented? Chubby? Etc? Has the look of someone who might not mind being held down by the Angels?

N.Maines is a definite Trophy fuh. You just gotta keep your expectations on the R side, gents.

Its like a damn winning combination, Bo...........
