Oh, no, I was totally tight with him, but his storage habits could have had me in jail for - oh, the rest of my life, I guess.

I like this thread. Makes me happy for my roomates. One of them came home drunk on the weekend with a couple of friends at 4 am. They decided to take my dog for a walk. During the walk my dog got sprayed by a skunk. Those kids spent the next 2 hrs searching the internet for skunk spray remedies, running to the 24 hr Hasty mart to buy supplies and then washing down my dog in the bathroom. He still stinks a bit though (my dog not my roomate).

my roommate ganked the cable box from my tv in the living room and put it in her room yesterday. i just figured she wanted to lay in bed and watch tv while i was gone and i've got no problem with that. it's just that when i went into her room this morning to put it back, i found that she'd hooked her dvd player into it and re-programmed the remote's settings. she also hid the remote, but it wasn't too hard to find.

i'm totally in the right for putting it back in the living room and being mildly upset, right?

Mildly? What the did she think gave her the right to do that? "Oh, I see I can't watch cable in my room. Perhaps I'll just take this." An extra one is like $10/month.

A grudge against the filing cabinet? I'm not even asking how that came about.

I am a bad roomie and refuse to ever have or be a roommate again. It makes me hostile. Plus, I alternate between hyper tidy and revoltingly slobby, for about three weeks each stage. And I play music loud all the time, and if I get excited about an album I play it six times in a row sometimes. And I'm very very bad about dishes. I keep inconsistent hours. I hate it when people touch my stuff. I must live alone.

i could probably bump this thread every week with something about my living situation, but i save it just for big rants.

so, my roommate has thrice not paid rent by its due date (uh, the 4th of a month) in the last six months. of course, i'm really not happy about how that reflects on me since i'm subjected to the late-rent notices and probably the effect it's having on my credit. i could maybe see forgetting once or twice, but it's way more than that. (i've bailed her out once already. and it was the 7th by the time she asked for help.) seriously, what's wrong with some people? i'm just thankful that i can get out of here in a few months.

sorry, just needed a short vent.

Have her kicked out. If it's your name on the lease then legally you can do that.

And screw her if she cries, it sounds like she's been nothing but trouble.

My roommate handed me a huge bag full of chicken and biscuits when I got home from work. She's okay in my book.

a few days late shouldn't hurt your credit...but still, it'll be good to get far away from this basket case

i've had 'em get me evicted, throw up on me, steal my shit, sell my shit, fight me, break my plates and replace them with paper plates because recycling just makes sure we spend our last days using inferior products" (seriously), etc...

i've reacted with varying degrees of outright fucked-upedness, moodiness, insomnia, shouting, bringing back barloads of people at 2:30 on a thursday morning, loud music, etc...

it still wasn't an even trade. my roommate now makes me omelets sometimes.

edit and james she is insane, you picked a crazy one.

well, i think this is a valid reason to bump the thread. as i posted above, my roommate took the cable box from the living room to her bedroom a few months ago.

fast-forward to this past monday. i came home from a weekend out of town and there's someone else's gear all over my apartment. they even emptied my clothing out of the hallway closet to put theirs in. (that's another matter entirely.) anyway, the cable box is back on my tv in the living room, supposedly because this other person and my roommate have now "taken back" the living room.

so, the other day while i was having breakfast, i was watching espnews because i wouldn't otherwise get it. and today? all the espn channels are locked. this is fucked, right? or am i just crazy and that's totally normal? it's just espn, but it seems silly.

oh my god i'd be fucking pissed. throw the clothes that they moved yours for into the street. and tell her she's next if this shit keeps up. the channel blocking is just weird, but has she kept the cable box in her room for this long? I hope you're not paying for any of the bill.

Very strange situation you're in, Z, but Cotton is right. It's time to get a little physical and start moving her things around.

Oh well for jesus christ you really need to retaliate against this bitch. I wouldn't kill her, but throw her shit in the hall, or out the door like Cotton said. If she complains then explain, an eye for an eye.

Oh yeahh, by the way what the hell is her name on Sound Opnions again?
