People can hate all they want, but fuck me, these guys write some catchy & fun tunes. I love their sound, even the overly corny bits.

Half way through the new album, and I'm feelin' it, especially "This Boy" and "Evil & A Heathen".

Uploading now for you fuckers. PM if you want the sass.

I didn't like their debut album. Is this album better?

same upbeat feel, but this one tune "Walk Away" is almost a ballad, and very well done.

can't say yet if it's better or not. if you dig them, you'll enjoy this.

ok, "What You Meant" is the best tune they've ever done. Fucking AWESOME!

This is a pretty damn good record...I didn't like the single but it fits within the context of the record.

it brings the tempo up, and prepares you for "This Boy".

Yeah, so far I do think this is better than the last record.

It's pretty good.

Just finished listening to the whole album. Overall, I like it quite a lot more than the debut, except I'm not sure why. It sounds like FF, catchy and all that with a familiar cadence, but I never really got that enthusiastic about their first album. I guess the guitars are a bit more out front, I actually haven't listened to their debut in awhile so maybe I should spin it again for a fresh compare. Anyway, 'The Fallen' is a fucking great lead off track. I hadn't heard the first single yet, so I had no preconceptions about what I was about to hear and I liked 'Do You Want To' as well. 'Evil and a Heathen' reminded me somewhat of The Stray Cats. Near the end, the slower 'Let's Fade Together' was great and vaguely Pulp-ish. I think it's pretty damn solid follow-up.

I'm gonna play it again.

i'd say very Pulp-ish, and i thought the same thing. 2 mellow tracks on this album, both great.

my fav still is "What You Meant". The chorus slays me.

i like the track progression on this more than their debut, as well as the variance in sounds.

also, hearing "Do You Want To" in line with the other tracks, it fits very well.

This one relies less on jittery monolithic energy to power its way through the tunes and more on genuine song structure and melody. It's like Cathal Coughlan subbing for Brian Setzer guesting on a Squeeze record with Adam & The Ants occasionally bashing on something.

"Evil & A Heathen" is a standout.

"Eleanor Put Your Boots On" is slight, but a great little ditty. It's their Wings song.

"What You Meant" is pretty good heavy XTC

"I'm Your Villian" is good heavy ELO and sounds like it was done in one take with no overdubs and few amps.

"You Could Have" will probably be a hit.

"Fade Together" is their Kinks song.

"The Outsiders" is their Squeeze song and is my favorite on first listen

It's not a cerebral album, but damn good songs. May make my Top 10 for the year. Top 20 anyway.

FF are the kind of band i'll definitely leave on the radio if there's a song on, but have absolutely zero urge to play or own anything by them.

Could you send a PM my way? Thanks.

I'm interested to listen to this. I enjoyed the debut, but I've found that usually when a group has a good debut that has mainstream success, the follow-up is usually pretty crappy.

Man, I'm back at school and all of those links are dead. Somebody hook a brother up. I really need Wolf Parade - Apologies to Queen Mary, too.

So far I've really been enjoying Do You Want To?. It starts off pretty lame then from out of nowhere turns in to this awesome disco squiggle romp.

I'm gonna ask nicely one more time, then I'm gonna have to start a thread calling for forced fellatio.

I sent SB Wolf Parade, so you dont have to worry about that one. I actually am uploading FF now, so you don't have to worry about that one either. Unless you have already started. Cause mine is talking a while.

edit: I sent FF to SB as well. What did FT want?
