I have way too much music to listen to now!

My on-deck circle looks like an unemployment line during the great depression, here's a small sampler for your amusement:

Konstantimix 2005 - I still need to give this a few more spins. Darrin, when did that Go-Betweens song come out? I'm digging that one as well.
New Gravenhurst, Franz Ferdinand, and BOC courtesy of Dalen
The best of Robert Cray, Cameo
A Hanoi Rocks compilation mix I'm still trying to put together
Telepopmusik - Angel Milk
Twinemen - s/t
Delerium - Spheres
Sigur Ros - Takk
Rogue Wave - the new one
Royksopp - The Understanding + bonus tracks and remixes
Phoenix - Alphabetical
13 Senses - The Invitation
Minus the Bear - Menos Del Oro
Hard- Fi - Stars of the C.C.T.V.
Elbow - Leaders of the Free World
DCFC - Plans
Cave In - Until Your Heart Stops
Archive - Londonium
Deep Dish - George Is On
Beck - Stray Blues
About 10 mixes sent to me by various Brits as part of the summer burn mix project
A "Lost in the 80's" compilation cd I'm also slowly building/working on

Christ, with a new Lightning Bolt and Depeche Mode coming out soon too, I'll never catch up! Arrrrrrrrgh!!!!!

Really though, I only have myself to blame.

I feel your pain. I have way too much music. I don't know why I acquire so much music that I probably won't even get to for another year. I can't stand the idea of missing out on a good song though. It sucks.

I can help you trim down this one. Just listen to tracks 1, 2 and 6. Really good tracks that stand out amidst a pretty mediocre album.

It's been leaks galore lately, some good (BOC, LB) and some not so good (Franz) but i've got heaps to listen to.

Lightning Bolt - Hypermagic Mountain
BOC - Campfire Headphase
that Gravenhurst album
possibly the Opeth album
Mira - There I Go Daydreamer
Black Dice - Broken Ear Record
all those Analord releases
Sareena Maneesh - S/T

i keep meaning to ask you for your Prince comp on Colinswood too Rami, but Im supposed to be busy with studying this weekend.

that Royksopp sucks don't bother.

And ask yourself, do you really need to listen to a band like Elbow?

A band I have tried really hard to like. I'm tempted to grab this one via trade ins.

This is the crux of the problem....(slaps forehead) Um, what does that Mira sound like?...fuck me, I'm going to need therapy soon.

s'plates -- I'll get that compilation to you soon. Hey, I like Elbow. That Mexican Standoff song is qual. I listened to that Serena Maneesh album last night and only found one track I really liked, that first one.

Well this isn't much different from Apart, more shoegaze-postpunk Cocteau Twinsesque gothy dream pop. This won't win you over if you didn't like it. I however, quite enjoy them.

AMG is pretty off the mark with the 'Styles' listed on their page though. It isn't Dark Ambient or any of that.

To make matters worse I felt compelled to go to a thrift store today and came back with:

Glenn Danzig - Black Aria (awesome dark beauty compositional score)
Delerium - Spheres (awesome dark space ambient for astronauts)

For $3 each!!!

I almost picked up:

Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen...
William Byrd - a medieval English classical composer of hauntingly beautiful choral music.

Yep, that boy needs therapy. I'm doomed.

edit: Hey, I have one Richard Ashcroft solo cd: Human Conditions and think its pretty nifty.

I already own his two solo albums and enjoy them very much. :)

See, recently I heard a bunch of b-sides from the singles off Alone With Everybody and Human Conditions, and liked them just as much if not more than the a-sides. I also ordered the infamous "Lucky Man" CD-Single from Urban Hymns which contains the lovely b-side "Never Wanna See You Cry." In my opinion, it's one of the best Verve songs ever.

It's from current album 'Oceans Apart'.

yep. i decided i had that problem a year ago or so.

my lack of storage is what brought me to the realization.
i still haven't figured it out yet.

i think i'm just going to start giving a lot of my 'jamband' stuff away to some of my 'jamband' friends.

lots of stuff i haven't even listened to.

Can you name these for me, I have three of them and the U.S. Human Conditions witch has one extra song. I do agree however that Richard solo leaves a lot to be desired, the first one is OK to good but never play it.

Elbow is fantastic and one of the best bands we have today! Stylus gave the new one a A- and said “Three albums in and no fall-off. They deserve to be bigger than U2, but the personal quality that earns them that kind of love doesn't tend to translate on a wider scale; I can only hope they stay small, and personal, and magical.

STYLUSMAGAZINE.COM’S ALBUM OF THE WEEK”

I’m in the same boat as you South Pacific. Fortunately I haven’t been d/l because I bought a new computer and switching ISP’s. I will have speed for the first time in my life and makes it very scary as I don’t hear everything I get already. Though my albums seem to be totally different than the ones you have listed except for one or two. On top of all of that I have purchased around 60 new CD’s since June, mainly replacing MP3’s, all four Cure Remastered ect. I did buy some without hearing them and listened to the Beta Band’s The Three E.P.’S for the first time ever tonight. I’m absolutely blown away, what a great buy!

I'm in the same problem. Have been since the 90's. The 1990's.
