How many people fail to RSVP and then show up anyway? because i will light these people up in front of their families if they pull this.

Not that I've ever married, but I'd call those people if they're guests you'd like to see. Otherwise, fuck 'em...."sorry, you're not on the guest list...NEXT!"

I think it's pretty commonplace, it was recommended when we were planning the dinner that we anticipate it. And yeah, it sucks. We had several more later on in the evening at the reception.

We didn't have any of those. We just had people who never rsvp'd even though we called them ten times.

We also had a LOT(well about ten) people who RSVP'd they'd be at the reception and gave their dinner choices, and THEN only came to ceremony or didn't show up at ALL!! Man was I PISSED!

One couple had a good excuse, she was super super sick that week.

But still, that stuck us with paying for all those dinners cooked that went uneaten.

Kick their asses Chase. Seriously. People have no class when it comes to these things apparently.

It about evens outs from the no-shows. I'd say, anticipate 10% -- that's a max.

The biggest problem at my wedding was motherfuckers RSVPing and then not showing up. That's money you spend on the food that no one eats. We almost wrote a few bastids off because of that.

We only had a few who did not RSVP.

So,....... we called 'em and found out yeah or neah.

The people that really pissed us off were, as graperipple mentions, those who rsvp'd and did not show up.

Best luck with your day,

audiobill

at the wedding i was at last weekend, one of my friends rsvp'd himself, but not his girlfriend, whom the groom knows pretty well too. so they showed up and eventually figured that she didn't have a spot. luckily, another friend's girlfriend was sick and didn't go, so it all worked out. but yeah, some tempers were flaring before it was figured out.

for purely technical reasons, when and where will this shindig be held?;)

I wouldnt factor in people not RSVPing and then showing up.. and if there are some, they will almost always be outweighed by people who RSVP and then dont show up.. bet that.

We dragged everyone's asses out-of-woen for mine. So we had none.

You can also usually expect a few to show with their kids.

I've got no problems with this response, but he shouldn't be the one that has to deal with it. It's his day to ENJOY not get aggravated.

Get some of your asskicker buddies to lay down the law if anyone shows up unexpectedly.

I had the opposite problem. Rsvp's that said they would come, or came to the ceremony, but didn't come to the free steak dinner and open bar with top notch liquers and beers.

Did you explicity say "don't bring any goddam babies" on the invites? Because, otherwise, there's gonna be some babies, dude. And Yep to the reports of minimal no-shows / shouldn'ta shows. We had an uncle just sorta tag along to the rehearsal dinner... her mom discretely paid for him at the bar. Otherwise it's very, very minimal for most weddings, I think.
