Another huge compilation to suck the money out of your wallet:

Children Of Nuggets

If you don't want to click the link, the crux of the article is this:

Quote:
Among the familiar names on this Nuggets are the Cramps, Bangles, Posies, Teenage Fanclub, Flamin’ Groovies, the Soft Boys, Smithereens, Wondermints and Dream Syndicate. Primal Scream makes an appearance in its early Byrds-influenced incarnation ("Gentle Tuesday"), as do Screaming Trees (the heavily Doors-oid "Transfiguration") and exploding Welsh teardrop Julian Cope ("Sunspots").

Kicking off the show is "Vanishing Girl," a 1987 cut by the Dukes of the Stratosphear. "It’s XTC," explains Palao, "doing what was essentially a pastiche [of psychedelic pop], but they ended up not only hitting the nail on the head as far as capturing the style, but doing work that was probably more entertaining than some of their XTC albums of the time." Closing the teen canteen is a 1996 track by the Wondermints ("Tracy Hide"), most of whom went on to become Brian Wilson’s band.

In between are examples of every possible permutation on ’60s/garage style, from the exhilarating pop of "There She Goes" by Liverpool’s La’s to the loose-limbed frat-rock of "The Girl from Baltimore" (New York’s Fleshtones) and the menacing snarl-rock of "Where the Wolf Bane Blooms" (Stockholm’s Nomads). Palao admits to a slight "L.A.-centric" bent to the program, since Southern California birthed such ensembles as the Bangles, Pandoras, Last and Long Ryders, as well as the ’80s "paisley underground" scene (Dream Syndicate, Green on Red, Rain Parade, The Three O’clock).

Yeh I know, the McDonald's jokes just write themselves.

Sounds like it might be ok but is probably only available to about 12 people worldwide.

And I know that you are on that list, Rads (being that you live in that plastic prison and all) so I hope you "enjoy" it.....

(BTW Rads, I am still fighting MASSIVE charges of treason and Rape per your shipment of that Stones boot. Sick shit, dude.)

I got the advance sampler for this in the mail last week. Pretty tasty if you don't have the stuff already. These Rhino boxes are remarkably well-done.

I still on the fence about this one, as it doesn't quite have the kick as the other two (brilliant, must own) have. That being said I want to hear how Rhino put it together and than judge it so I will d/l and see.

That Primal Scream song is pretty cheesy, very flowery and unlike what they became when they found their sound. Great fucking Church song!

Lotta these songs I used to play on my college shows.

Oh, yeah. Lime Spiders. Rain Parade. Long Ryders. Green On Red.

I remember that Primal Scream song. They had several paisley ballads on a comp record when they were very young little shits.
