Sigur Ros and Calexico/Iron & Wine are coming in the mail. I'll probably pick up the Sonic Youth "Goo" reissue if it isn't too expensive or if I don't get robbed by my mechanic tomorrow.

I'm so broke I had to take money out of my IRA for truck repairs.

Will have to figure out how to steal some shit for a little while.

My friend at a local record store got me copies of the Little Brother and DJ Quik albums this weekend. However, I'll also pick up the new Sigur Ros Tuesday if the audio clips sound good.

I pre-ordered the new Skillz album from Borders, so if they get it in this week, I'll buy that too.

Two King Crimson reissues

Which two? Any reissues beyond In the Court and Poseidon are absolutely 100% identical sonically (and package-wise if you didn't get the LP-sleeve versions in the first runs) to the ones that were released a couple years ago. They're simply being reissued because Fripp won back the rights to the catalog and needed to get them out to stores again. In the Court, however, is truly from the master tape this time and Poseidon has a couple bonus tracks ("Groon" and, I think, a different version of "Cat Food.")

Have you heard early Tyrannosaurus Rex? His stuff so far has been a lot like that.

It's just wierd, sorta delicate hippie folk with warbly vocals and mostly silly lyrics.

Haven't heard the new stuff so I can't really comment on that.

Larks Tongues In Aspic and Beat. I just got into them this year and this will be my first time ever owning them.

Cool! Always glad to see someone getting into Crimson. Do yourself a favor, if you haven't already, and invest in some of the official bootlegs. This is THE band to experience live - the studio material takes on a very different feeling live, not to mention the improvisation, especially in the 70s incarnations of the band. The Islands-era band is really more of a jazz group live than "just" rock and the official bootleg offerings from that short period of time are numerous.

I didn't even realize the Dandy Warhols had a new disc coming out until a couple days ago. I still haven't really digested Monkey House enough to warrent buying newer stuff.

I was thinking of getting B.B. King - 80, but might get a compilation instead.

Edit: I'd also like to pick up Nada Surf!

I thought Nada Surf and Super Furry Animals were out next week but I saw them at Best Buy on my lunch break. I went ahead and bought Giant Drag, Cave In, and Juliana Theory while I was at Best Buy. I also have a gift cert to Target so hopefully I can get Sigur Ros there and then just get the remainder (Nada Surf and SFA) at my local indie store. Don't know if I want Dandy Warhols yet. Didn't care much for their Monkey House CD.

I know you all want the new Switchfoot and David Gray. Those are out too.

Good god, the packaging on Takk sucks. No booklet, bigger than a regular CD case, and so thin that my cd came cracked right out of the package. Now I've got to drive out there and buy a new one.
