For some reason I thought this came out 9/24/04 or something. Ah well....

I was thinking about Funeral today and I had it in my mind that it came out in March of 04. It sure seems like it's older than a year.

I still don't think any of the hype given to this album was undeserved. In my humble-ass opinion this is the best album released in the past five years. Maybe more. Love it, love it, love it.

I like "Power Out," but the rest of the album never left much of an impression.

Oh, hey Bee. I didn't ignore your PM! :D

I still haven't heard it, more than a quick listen to it in the listening station.

Still like it. Co-worker played it today and it reminded me of last Fall. I plan to play it, Interpol, Neil Young, and the new MMJ and Boards of Canada records in fall 2005.

Am I the only one that got bored with it pretty quickly? Don't get me wrong - it was decent, but it just didn't move me much at all after a few listens. In no way did I get a "classic must-have album" feeling out of it. I traded it 5 or 6 months ago and haven't missed it in the slightest.

It was a fine work... and after about 4 listens I always tuned out of every song about 2/3 of the way through and kinda woke up when it was over. Just lost interest. Has a self-importance that can't bear the weight of its weakening execution.

For me it was full of "references" and kitchen-sink ideas... the voice is pleasing, the influences include artists I've really liked, it had a "big vision"... but it ultimately was boring. It was in my Top Five of last year... wouldn't crack a revisionist 20. Haven't listened to it in six month. Will buy their next one. Eh.

You nailed it. I wish I could have put it that way, but that's exactly how I felt about it. I don't find it offensively bad - I just don't find it particularly special.

Great record. My number one of last year, and can't think of a better record I've bought in the last few years. I can still put it on and really enjoy it. Hasn't lost anything for me.

It is a magical, wonderful album that keeps me from drinking alcohol.

Interesting. This is probably my least favorite song on the record. I think it works within the frame of the record, but I would never put this song on just to listen to it.

I'm one o' them "haunted ambient" lovin' sumbitches.

The only track I think is just "okay" is "Tunnel" (least interesting vocals). Love the rest of the CD. Second favorite is "Crown Of Love"

That makes sense, then. Actually "Tunnel" is one of my favorites. But at least we can agree on the rest of the record.
